Helps when we have to have AD sit. Kuz starts and you have a solid PF off the bench. He’s a great pickup.

Markieff Morris had just gone head-to-head a few times with the 6-foot-7 and 285-pound Zion Williamson, and the Lakers forward didn’t like how he responded. So when the Lakers’ 122-114 win was over Sunday night, Morris worked out in the hallway outside the locker room with the team’s training staff. He lifted weights and did push-ups, all with the intent of getting his body ready for the brute force of Williamson or any other powerful player he might face. Morris played 14 minutes off the bench with Anthony Davis out with a sore right knee. Kyle Kuzma got the starting nod. – via Broderick Turner @ Los Angeles Times

markieff can do as many bench presses and prep and he will never be ready for Zion. That dude is something else.

But I'm really loving this signing. As stated before, it helps us rest AD more as we can plug Kuz in that spot with Markieff backing him up. Pre-Markieff, that was rough b/c we only had Dudley as a backup PF.

Markieff has become a consistent 3 point shooter. I’m actually surprised when he misses an open 3, wasn’t always the case in his previous stops.

I never saw the guy jump and try to swat Zions layups.

Must have a different defensive philosophy.

He just watch him do the motion with no contest.

Yeah. Zion is killing everyone though.

Markieff already helping the bench in a big way. Another addition like Dion or Lance Stephenson and we would have a real bench

All the comparisons are meaningless, both were great picks for each of their teams. Ideally we should have had another trade swap with clippers because, we are looking for more of a SF/Guard vs Clippers who were looking more of SF/PF

However the difference in their games is so small that i dont think it is going to make much of a difference either way.

In fact the trade makes more sense for lakers who had a bad bench vs Clippers which already had a decent bench.

The big difference is we kept Kuz and Green and added Markieff.

I take that ALL day over trading Kuz/Green for Marcus.

I think I saw Markieff tie up Zion when he attached the paint toward the rim; almost looked like a jump ball... but Zion call the call. I think it was him last night (?).

Anyway good pickup, we needed help at PF...Dudley will be gone next season and hopefully we can keep this guy around as a backup.

They were pretty generous with the calls on Zion last night. I remember when they called a foul on Morris for just putting his hands up while Zion barrelled into him. He wasn't getting those calls when we played in LA.

Thankfully we don't have to worry about someone with that kind of physicality on either the Clippers, Rockets, or Bucks.

Called it, might not play as many minutes as Marcus but will have just as great an impact when on the floor

Now we can trade Kuzma and Green for someone else.

As for Markieff, I wonder how much he gets offered as a FA?

It wouid take an unbelievable amount of steroids for Kieff to ever be ready for Zion.

Exactly. Plus, some nights Marcus might play for us anyways. You never know when they'll pull their switcheroo.
