Boogie is no where near playing. He’s just not. He’s at least a month or two out from just playing with other guys on the floor at the earliest.
Smart move by Pelinka. Bravo. |

McMenamin: DeMarcus Cousins just arrived at Staples Center and hugged a couple staffers on his way into the Lakers locker room.
Medina: Frank Vogel declined to go into detail on Lakers’ front office thinking on waiving DeMarcus Cousins as @wojespn and @ramonashelburne reported |

I think that your chances are way too optimistic, he has a long way to go before he can play. Even then the poor lateral movement he used to have will likely be even more diminished. |
U think ur team gonna pick him up VLF? Boogie would be an insane upgrade to Zubac next yr |
No team is picking him up, he isn’t ready to play. |
You should be pleased with this.. you've been saying Boogie was the smart cut |

Realistically we all knew it would be foolish for Cousins to play at all this season. Put the feelings aside and look at the big picture, every roster spot matters and Cousins was in a spot that wasn't doing anything.
I feel for Cousins, I do. I got to liking him this season. I know he is a big locker room guy, I hope this doesn't alter chemistry in any way.
I knew they had to cut a guy, but for some reason Cousins wasn't even a possibility in my head. |

This guy has lost so much money, I feel bad for him. From a super max guy to a minimum guy. Hope he can turn it around after recovery |

A guy who can actually suit up and play is more valuable than a guy who can't - good move. And like others have said, this doesn't mean Daniels won't be waived if another buyout opportunity emerges. |

I'm not surprised Lakers waived Boogie. His slot was stalled. He's still on Lakers radar. I don't think he'll last long on waivers. Both Morris brothers in Los Angeles, Marcus with Clippers, Markieff with Lakers. Would be nice to have the Antetokounmpo brothers, Giannis and Kostas, with us _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Bye Boogie, nice knowing ya. Lesson for all those max players out there. Your next 300M contract isn't 100% guaranteed. Don't ever take it for granted. You never know what might happen to you. Never know.
NBA, MLB and Soccer are like the only sports where teams would throw hundreds of millions of dollars at you and beg you to take it. Nowhere else in the world do you get this. _________________ LeGoat! LeMazing! LeGend! |

I’ve never cared much for him but I hate seeing injuries derail any player’s career, in any sport. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Down jumps da Boogie.
I wanted Troy or Dud cut instead but DMC is beyond repair at this stage for a playoff run. Hope no hard feelings if we need a big if Dwight or McGee bolts. _________________ MAMBA OUT

Sign him as an assistant or consultant. I've been trying to trade him (and half the roster) all season. The plan for me with Cousins was to always bring him back in his same role, as a cheerleader in a suit, in the ear of players on the bench.
Nothing has to change for him as far as I'm concerned. _________________ A creative scorer, a wing defender, and a shooter. |

I'm trying to get him on the bench with the players. The best way to do that is to give him some trumped up title.
If they sign him to a two-way, he can't be on the bench unless he's called up. Definitely a possibility. _________________ A creative scorer, a wing defender, and a shooter. |

According to the videos on the twitter account jordan posted, Demarcus is still working with Phil Handy. |

It seems like the Lakers are really thinking this through. |

It feels like there's gotta be some obscure CBA rule against this. _________________ Under New Management |

Demarcus Cousins on being a Laker:

It was the right decision. No reason to keep him when he's a long way to go before playing again.
This was probably a deal of some kind. He'll probably keep rehabbing within our facility and with our trainers. Watch him sign with us next year again. |
