Hate him or love him he’s not afraid of the moment. The rest of team kind of shrinks but this guy has no conscious (good or bad) |

I didn’t see a lot of good defense from him (and some really bad defense at times), but it is nice to have someone that can get their own shot. He makes some pretty difficult shots with hands in his face, we don’t have many players that can do that.
However, right now, I see J.R. as the better overall player for us (more effort on D) and sold on O. |

Waiters is going to be huuuggeee. Now we have two scorers off the bench, Kuzma and Waiters. Both will be inconsistent so hopefully even if one is on a slump one game, the other will be shooting the lights out.
Two things Waiters needs to work on:
1. A little more speed and quicker hands on defense
2. While some of his lobs have been nice, he needs to just spend a couple hours just with Dwight and keep practicing those lobs. They seem a little too high and a little off. If this was 2009 Dwight, we woudn't have a problem, but I don't trust Dwight catching bad lobs nowadays. |

Now we have a poor man's LouWill and Montrez coming off the bench!
I know Dion deserves PT only sucks Bradley had to opt out for this to happen. Would've been a perfect contrast of O and D between them. |

Waiters shooting efficiency is about the same as Lonzo's
Let's not go crazy here...
He's looked good, but he's got a long way to go before he's at LouWill's level |

Hopefully he pans out. Before being a Laker, he gave me the Isiah "JR" Rider irresponsible vibes. Hope I'm wrong. |

Waiters and lou shoot about the same from fg and 3 for their career and lonzos shooting better from 3 this year than lou. Lou has him crushed in free throws though obviously and can play make very well. |

I haven't been able to catch the games only the highlights, but I know Dion can play... He gets buckets.
It may be a hard pill to swallow, but if he's capable of creating his own shot off the dribble as well as getting open looks for his teammates, we may need to insert him into the starters role.
I'd say either him or Cook, AC could go their also, however I believe Dion is more of an offensive threat than both.
Put a true ball-handling guard takes the pressure off of LBJ, because I can guarantee that teams will key in on him during the playoffs with the ball in his hand so much and look to wear him out. |

Waiters is a good one on one player. He can get his shot of even when contested.
But he is not a passing offense type player. He doesn't move without the ball and only moves when he has the ball.
His defense is ok but he is not quick.
But because of his one on one capability he may prove valuable.
But he is not a playmaker like Rondo. |

Quote: | Lakers guard Dion Waiters discussed the difference between playing alongside LeBron James now compared to when they were teammates in Cleveland six years ago,
“When you’re young, you’re still trying to find yourself coming into the league,” Waiters said.
“I think Bron was trying to help me with that, but I was so stubborn back then. But I understand now. I’m 28. I’ve been through a lot. I’m at peace with myself, though.” |

It evens out in the post-season.
Lou is a horrendous playoff performer. |

We don't need a ball handler with LBJ on the floor we need guys to spread the floor and play defense. KCP is capable and better suited for both. Dion will be better off the bench. _________________ Coach Vogel, Kidd, Hollins

He hits contested shots very well bc of his high release. He‘s looking very long when his arms stretching out.
Even if he doesn‘t look in great shape, he‘s very shifty and quick.
He‘s going to be important for us _________________ White guy to white guy alley oop |

With the exception of last year where Williams average 21 pts a game with almost 6ftm off the bench.
Lou is just a better player than Waiters but I have always been a fan of Waiters since his his OKC days, the guy can get buckets. Just needs to be with right system and coach. |

I’m on Team Dion, but he should never share the court with LeBron. We are Warriors level unselfish with LeBron on the court. But with LeBron of the court, our team struggles to score. Once our second unit proves that they can’t get a bucket, which is often the case, that’s when we should call on Dion. Besides LeBron and AD, no one else on our team can get their own shot. That’s the beauty of Dion. Pelinka used to be his agent. He’s fully aware that Dion’s self-confidence is Kobe level. _________________ “You have to dance beautifully in the box that you are comfortable dancing in.” - Kobe Bryant |

Well well well... finally getting a chance to see what Waiters can do in a Laker uniform.
I was against signing Waiters, but readily admitted I'm trusting the choices the FO is making more than my own predispositions right now. So far, so good. He can create his own shot, and when the team needs buckets he can get them. LeBron can't play the whole game, and without him or Rondo organizing the offense in stretches, plus with Bradley out, Dion is suddenly a much, MUCH better fit than I expected early March.
We've got some big tests coming up once the playoffs get underway, but he's off to a good start. Keep it up DW! |

I think there's a lot to that. Vogel and his staff have been excellent. |

Vogel deserves a 10 year extension, he has a chance to become apart of the Pat Riley/Phil Jackson class, Vogel and his coaching staff know how to get players to buy in, he might surpass Phil if he ends up leading the team to multiple championships. |

Easy there cowboy, this current core has maybe a 2 year window so baby steps. The fact that JKidd is still on the staff could be the main caveat that kicks Vogel out the door if the team collapses during this brief window. |
