JR is obviously the more gifted shooter. And shooters work with LBJ. But we have such a deficit in terms of guys who can theoretically score off the dribble.
Honestly at this point in their careers I’d call JR and Dion’s shooting a wash. JR shot 30% from deep in his 11 games in 18-19, small sample size but he’s been regressing for a few years now _________________ #18 next...
So Dion is the back up plan, this is either Dwight the sequel or he gonna get cut again before playoff... pretty low risk if you ask me since Troy and Cook are kinda redundant
I don't see a roll for Dion on this team, but Troy and Cook don't have rolls either.
If he is just going to become a deep backup who plays situational minutes, OK, but I don't see Dion as a difference-maker.
I think he is insurance for someone getting hurt. KCP light, but tough.

Please be Jr Smith and not Waiters
How about neither.
Who’d you go for?
Troy Daniels isn’t an option

dion is too risky for what he brings to the table - 40% from the field and 34% from 3 scream low IQ chucker to me.
at least JR will have no problem fitting in and would be ok in a limited role.
Im sorry to say but Dion IQ so low that he is the kind of person who isnt scared of the moment like the rest of our team will, which might turn out to be a good thing
Isaiah Thomas, anyone? _________________ On Lakersground, a concern troll is someone who is a fan of another team, but pretends to be a Lakers fan with "concerns".
Clippers just waived Isaiah Thomas. I know he has issues with Rondo, but he's a legit scoring threat off the bench and he can get his own shot.
I actually like IT especially after hearing him talk about Kobe, on offense he’s what we need, but he’s also such a big liability on defense. _________________

Why did the Clippers waive him? With how hard they've been going after guys that could help the Lakers as well it would make me really question if he's worth it at this point. Maybe they just figured Reggie was the better of the two as both are extreme defensive liabilities that can put some points up.
Personally, I still see Dion as the clear best player out of those 3 options. He looked solid against the Clippers just about a month ago and isn't a defensive liability. Still on the low bb iq side for sure but all three options are really so it's kind of a pick your poison sadly.
Thomas is still the better player and what we need. P&R between him and Davis could keep the bench afloat. We have periods where we can’t put the ball in the basket and in the playoffs we won’t survive that.
Waiters can help with his penetration also but he can’t shoot so alot of time people will go under the screen so he won’t open up the lane for Davis. Thomas on the other hand will burn you at 40%.
We have a bunch of solid defenders to cover for him
Lance and Dion would both be a great signings. We play whoever based on matchups.
Lou vs Dion,
Lance to guard Kwahi or PG when LeBron or green r in Foul trouble or as backup for 6 to 8 min
At this stage with Markieff signing, Dudley is redundant

Dion Waiters is the only one that can play defense on Paul George and Kawhi. The rest no.
Dion's last game as a Heat before being waived this year:
Dion always plays hard against KD. Random facts, they are good friends and KD respects the hell out of his game. KD calls him a brother. He says he owns a mansion on Waiters Island. Waiters claims while on OKC, Waiters used to beat him in 1v1 all the time. _________________ Formerly OC Lakerfan
