You're behind the times. The Clippers home attendance was actually higher than us this year -- 19,068 per game to 18,997 per game.

NBA finals would finish October 12th (or slightly before)...Less than one month turnaround for training camp. I know they don't want to destroy next season, but that's tough for the finals teams.

I think they could "possibly" get around it by temporarily expanding the rosters (i.e. first couple of months), to allow D-league players to give a blow to the guys who didn't get any rest (training camp could be skipped for finals teams). They could also temporarily relax load management rules the first 2-3 months for playoff teams.

Imo there will be a back and forth on DEC 1 date. That seemed to be a fluid proposed date.

BOG and PA will probably agree to late December or January.

They've had a few months off so they should be able to deal with it.

Do you guys think that having no audience will effect the play of some players?

For example, its said that Dwight Howard hits free throws in practice all the time..in the game, perhaps b/c of the crowd, that isn't true.

Is it possible without an audience his free throw percentage will increase drmaatically?

That’s a bit misleading. Considering they have the cheaper tickets and we know the Lakers have fans in every arena so it’s not even close.

Clippers have a different seating capacity too. Those 70 seats are calculated. And iirc this may be the first year they sold out every game.

Where the Lakers have consistent sellouts at home and on the road. They also were top 10 in attendance even during most of the horrible down years.

The Clippers do a ton of ticket giveaways as well. Not to mention the average ticket price to see the Clippers is $267. For the Lakers it’s $473.

My only point was that the old joke that the Clippers play in empty stadiums is no longer true with the current Leonard/George team. This year they had 100% attendance at home and 98% on the road.

Don't think the TV deal changed. They will probably broadcast the games remotely anyways.

Sources: The NBPA informed players today that NBA/NBPA will conduct coronavirus testing every night during resumed season -- likely mouth swabs/light nasal swabs and not full invasive nasal swab. Minimum seven days quarantine for a player if positive.

No drug testing either:

Kawhi is going to shoot up that quad/knee
Lebron, Danny Green and Caruso might get back on the juice

Should be interesting. You can bet on Ballmer telling all his players to juice.

Not the smartest thing in the world to be doing right now. If someone is on steroids, they may be at a greater risk if they catch covid19. Best thing athletes can do is fortify their immune system.

As much as I hate to say it, Boston at 16/1 is worth putting some cash on.

Free tickets were the only reason that I went to Clipper games. I got to see Duncan play twice. If only the Lakers gave away free tickets.

My question is this and perhaps it deserves its own thread...

How will everyone view this potential championship? If/when the Lakers win it all.. would you consider it official "cannon" in the greater war against the Celtics?

Or should this exist in a parallel universe as non cannon but as an interesting sidebar because of all the extensive extenuating circumstances surrounding it?
