DEADLINEThe Kevin & Bean shows has been a staple of LA morning radio for 3 decades and an icon of the genre. Been a KROQ fan since the late '70's Baja days.

(bleep) that (bleep). Go to hell, KROQ. Go play another 311 song that was terrible when it came out in the '90s and (bleep) off. _________________ Under New Management |

I heard that and just shook my head. So sad.
I haven't been a regular listener in a while but when I was in high school, my mom would only allow a radio on (no TV) while we got ready for school/work. She used to love Christian radio, but at some point I changed it to K&B and she was hooked. Even after I left to college, she continued to listen and would give me updates when I'd call home.
Bummer. Seriously. |

Wow, can't believe they've been on this long. They'll land somewhere if they want to. |

I guess it was kind of inevitable when Bean left the show. _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant |

Kroq's been on a steady decline since the mid/late 90s. It was my go to station for the better part of my adolescent/young adult life. _________________ KOBE |

I agree. And K&B was the only reason it was still one of my presets. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

I used to listen when visiting my parents, way back when they also had on the British guy, Rodney on the Roq, and Jed'ums (Jed the Fish), who had a cool eclectic taste in music (a huge Oingo Boingo fan), to the extent he had the freedom to play it. We lost KZAP up here in Sac in the early 70's, and KROQ (in Pasaa Denaa) was about the last great place to hear good rock in the mid to late 80's to mid 90's or so. |

Yep, I realized that the first time I visited the island and saw him at the Burton Coffee Stand. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

Richard Blade is actually on Sirius XM on their alternative 80’s station, as is the Swedish Fish. |

I had Sirius XM free for some months when I bought my SUV and listened to Channel 33 "First Wave" with Richard and the Eagle and did not like the songs they played vs the KROQ HD2 "Rock of the 80's" channel - which is free, so I did not renew Sirius/XM when it expired..
They played more poppy 80's stuff than alternative 80's stuff IMO...

Very sad to hear, but that show's been on the steady decline starting in 2015 when they let Lisa May go.
But I was pretty much done when they let Ralph go.
Once Bean left, that was the nail in the coffin for me. |

Ralph wasn't the death blow for me, but it took a big hit when he left. I assume a chunk of listeners will now hop over to his podcast after the end of the show.
K&B was a huge stepping stone for guys like Kimmel, Corola and others who made it big. Not to mention any of the bands. |

Haven't listened to Kroq in so long. I started to listen when Knac went off air. Then as I got a bit older, it was all am news radio for me. |

I was also a KNAC refugee... loved that station, it was better than KROQ at one time...remember DJ Norm McBride? _________________ “Always remember... Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.” |

Are they still overplaying Sublime and the same Pearl Jam Ten song? Same. Haven't listened in forever. College radio since I was 18.
I didn't notice when KNAC went off the air because I already moved on. I fondly remember this show called Mandatory Metallica I used to tape. |

I remember when my old car's cd player broke (and no aux) and I was forced to listen to the radio. I didn't even drive that much but I would hear these staple KROQ bands on rotation seemingly every time I was in my car playing 90's stuff like it came out today. I don't have a problem with mixing in old stuff with new in the rotation, but it was the same damn songs by the same bands every freaking day (RHCP, Nirvana, Green Day, Blink-182, Sublime)
Seriously, I like Nirvana, but I don't need to hear "Come As You Are" every day. Do they need to sell more copies of Nevermind or something? Ridiculous. |

I stopped listening to music on terrestrial radio when Jonesy's Jukebox went of the air. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

This was my issue too. I didn't even mind it as it was an excuse to get outside of my musical bubble, but it wasn't even anything new I could hate. Just tedium.

It went off a couple of years ago. I wasn't aware of it coming back. Oddly enough it was on KROQ for awhile several years ago. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

I used to listen to Jonesy's Jukebox. I think you remember it on 103.1 before it went to a Mexican/Spanish station.
