What’s the point of seeding if there’s no HCA next year?

Assuming there are no fans next season either, should we even try hard in the regular season? Or should we load manage and make sure LeBron is ready for playoffs?

Matchups still matter, don't want to see Clipps until WCF at the EARLIEST.

By the 2021 playoffs, it's possible they'll have a vaccine developed, and people will be back in stadiums.

This is why I think they should give some sort of advantage to the team with HCA at least for the first two rounds of the playoffs.

If they want to cut some games, they can do it like this.

First round: higher seed must win two games, lower seed must win three games in order to advance

Second round: higher seed must win three games, lower seed must win four games in order to advance.

Third/Fourth round: no more advantage to higher seed.

The advantage your team gets from being seeded higher is that you are theoretically playing an easier opponent. That's enough. You don't have to go wild and give teams in essence an automatic win in the first round of Games 1 and 2
