I always liked Laron Profit. He was a solid, cheap guy to have. And he looked a lot like Kobe from a distance!
Antwan Jamison was good for the season he was here.
Honorary Mention- Trevor Ariza. I’ve never seen a Laker fit in and become a fan favorite so quickly. It felt like the guy literally made no mistakes the entire time he was on the floor. Ran into him at the Wynn as he was going to meet with the Rockets. Told him not to sign with them, he just laughed and kept walking. The next day he was a Rocket.
Official Pick- Dennis Rodman. I was beyond excited and couldn’t believe my eyes when he had his press conference at the Hard Rock. Those 17 games or whatever it was watching him rebound like a mad man and not give a crap about his free throws while blowing kisses to Don Nelson was some of the most fun I’ve had watching the Lakeshow. Dwight is reminding me a lot of him this season. As excited as I was I was equally disappointed and sad that he couldn’t get on the same page with Rambis and the team. At the time I was just bummed that he didn’t bring his shoes and socks to practice but obviously it was a lot more than that. Always wondered if he actually made it through that season if Phil would have kept him and what that would have done to our team dynamic. Rodman instead of AC.
List of players is shorter than I realized. Some names I’ve looked up since I started watching are Jerome Kersey, JR Reid, Derek Harper, Dennis Rodman, Isaiah Rider, Greg Foster, Mitch Richmond, Lindsey Hunter, Gary Payton, Karl Malone, Byron Russell, Brian Grant, Chucky Atkins, Caron Butler, Javaris Crittenton, Sun Yue, Theo Ratliff.
Oh yeah, forgot about Ruben Patterson.
I only looked at some of the years I’ve been watching and skipped some people. Looks like a lot of the players are guys that were either new to the league/not good enough to play much in the NBA or guys that were at the end of their careers. Malone worked out but he was a much better player in his prime than the other guys. There is a reason a lot of these guys only played in one season and it’s usually not a good reason.
My favorite to watch was definitely Malone. Ariza impressed me as early as 2008 so I wouldn’t put him on here.

He's not a star, but he's had a great career. He's logged over a thousand games in the NBA. He's put up consistent stats.
His regular-season performance for us really wasn't anything special. He just went on an incredible shooting streak at just the right time, during the playoffs, so we got a lot of attention for that

Caron Butler is my favorite 1 year Laker. I'm a UCONN fan and loved Caron at UCONN, so I was somewhat thrilled to get him (though we lost Shaq). I think a Kobe/Lamar/Caron trio would have been fun to watch if they could stick together.
Could someone explain why we traded him for Kwame (which in turn later became Pau, which of course I'd gladly take Pau over Caron)?
Who are some 1 year Laker players that you wish stayed on a bit longer?
Wow Caron only played a year with us? I've always felt he was PnG through and through. _________________ KOBE

Yeah, it’s pretty impressive for a role player to have had a career this long. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:
Not really an easy choice. I thought maybe there would be a clear choice.
I did like Karl Malone at the time. As I try to support any Laker. I don't like him at all anymore. I like Gary Payton way more even though he was a worse Laker.
Lindsey Hunter? I remember he had a decent stretch when Dfish was injured and he was on the team for a championship.
Caron Butler is a pretty likable player. Was on the team for a losing season though. His friendship with Kobe always makes me like him more.
Shout out to Lance. His air guitar was an experience
Yes Trevor Ariza would be the obvious choice, but if you are going by the question asked then he isn't eligible.
Yeah, Ariza would have been it but he technically played 2 seasons with us. I still go with Caron. He was entering his prime unlike a lot of the other notable 1 year Laker guys who were usually ring chasing. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals

Yup, loved Ed Davis in Toronto. Wish we would've kept him around.
