AD, LB, DG, JR, KCP
all defense... and u got 3 snipers... and AD and LB can shoot 3s as well... wow!
How is JR Smith on defense?
It ranges from occasionally decent to mostly poor to sometimes awful. Mostly he doesn't put much effort into defense and his mind often wanders, resulting in stupid mistakes. He's considered one of the easiest guys in the league to screen off the ball.
That's been his rep for the past 5 years or so. He hasn't played an NBA game in 18 months, but I doubt the guy who famously said "Defense isn't my area of expertise" is suddenly going to be good at that end of the court.

I’m curious how that will work, I guess that ESPN will film the scrimmages and send (sell?) the feed to Spectrum. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.

I get the feeling it might be that bootleg way they cover the Summer League sometimes where they aren’t there on-site but they get the broadcast from whatever network (NBATV/ESPN/whoever) and then BillyMac and Stu watch the game live and commentate.

More backlash, some elected officials are complaining that the NBA is getting tests and a quick turn around time while Joe Citizen has to get in line and hope he can get tested. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.

America’s healthcare system has always been pay to play. If you want to get access to tests, the better your healthcare provider the easier access. Much ado about nothing to me. _________________ Author of James Harden and the Strip Club

Yep... Sure It Didn’t - D’Antoni Cleared “No Red Flags”
Per McMahon
Rockets coach Mike D'Antoni, 69, is on the team flight en route to Orlando, a source told ESPN. He has said recently that his medical screenings didn't raise any red flags and that he planned to coach as usual, other than wearing a mask.

Further Screenings for Formerly COVID19 Positive Players
Per Holmes
NEW: Before any player who tests positive for coronavirus can return to action, they'll have a cardiac screening. In my latest story, NBA and NBPA medical officials explain why that is and address lingering concerns about potential long-lasting effects:

Lots Of Quotes from the First Practice
Here are some highlights
Per Tania G
LeBron won’t put a slogan on the back of his jersey. The list provided didn’t resonate with him. He wanted to have a say in what went on his jersey, but says it’s ok that he wasn’t consulted. “I respect everybody that decided to put something on the back of their jersey.”
JaVale McGee will wear 'Respect Us' on his jersey: “We have way more of a voice playing basketball … Our fans are basketball fans over anything. This is the biggest platform we can speak about social injustices. That’s the best time to talk about it."
Frank Vogel said “The NBA has done a great job” in getting everything ready for him to be able to prepare his team to play basketball. All of the facilities are as expected for practice/film/hotel and so on.

A Few More...
Per Trudell
Vogel on getting players ready: “We still have a lot of time. We have to be intelligent with that. Watching our guys work out last week, we put them through some pretty rigourous 1-on-1 work, and they seem to be in decent shape.” (They’re going to get full-court work in today)
Frank Vogel on seeing the guys together: “To see everybody in the gym at once is super exciting. As soon as we get off this call, we’ll be able to get to work, and I’m excited about that."

Dwight and Danny Did Not Practice On Saturday
Per Oram
Neither Danny Green nor Dwight Howard participated in the Lakers first practice in Orlando this evening due to testing glitches. Team hopes to have both of them available to practice tomorrow.
More info on this, per source with knowledge of situation: Because Dwight didn’t travel to Orlando with team he needs an extra day to clear quarantine. Danny Green’s was a lab error.
