Blazers not as good as Celtics. Lillard got hot and hit some ridiculous shots and the Celtics let their foot off the gas. I love to see a Boston team lose but in this case I'm glad Portland took the L, because the idea of them matched up with the Lakers team I watched last night doesn't sit well.

If we hadn’t lost to the Raptors, we would only be one loss behind the Bucks. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:
The NHL is doing it better with no piped in noise, just the sound of the game.
The problem is the atmosphere is basically dead at those NHL games. The arenas they are playing are huge compared to the buildings that the NBA are playing in comparison.
Disappointing news: Orlando Magic F Jonathan Isaac has suffered a torn ACL in his left knee, source tells ESPN. Isaac missed 31 games with knee injury earlier and worked his way back for restart. A much longer rehab awaits him now.
Damn Jonathan Isaac a torn ACL. That's horrible. He just came back from an injury.
I don't know but does it seem like there's a lot less activity on this board than before? I don't know if fans have slowly tuned out on the return...It does appear it's a lot more political now with constant adds and even interviews after the games that appear somewhat scripted. Idk a lot of fans turn to sports to escape politics...but now its everywhere.

I can only speak for myself, I have watched about 20 minutes of the Orlando Invitational and 2 periods of the Blues-Avalanche game. With everything grounded our evenings have turned into Yahtzee, Monopoly and 10,000 games with our kids. This fake NBA playoffs and contorted NHL playoffs aren’t really very interesting. I choose family over sports doing whatever they can to make money and keep relevant. Hopefully next season will mean something and will create interest. That keeps me here in the conversation. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.

Bubble Notes - Lakers Mandatory Shoot Around Today
Per Faigen
Frank Vogel says the top things the Lakers want to work on is their screening and spacing. He says they obviously need to make more shots, but thinks those two things will help.
Frank Vogel said the Lakers' decision to shootaround today had nothing to do with their loss to Toronto on Saturday. He said the team made the decision before that game.
Vogel also said he wanted to practice yesterday, but that because of the weird practice availabilities, the Lakers would have been forced to do so at 6 p.m. which he didn't want to do, and is why they decided to have a somewhat-rare mandatory shootaround today.

Which is why I have stayed away for the most part. I come here for sports talk, not politics. It has seeped into every single thread.

Bubble Notes - ‘Rona and the Playoffs
Per Woj (ESPN Article at link)
As concern grew the league’s playoffs could be compromised with sidelining of players because of inconclusive coronavirus tests, NBA has tightened protocol on retesting and allowing players a chance to return within 24-hour window. ESPN story:

Yeah that's the vibe I'm getting...Charles Barkley and Marcellus Wiley warned about this.
Budenholzer and Donovan voted co-coaches of the year.
Laker tax again. Voters can’t decide if the Lakers have a trash roster, old and soft superstars or just average coaching. I guess it depends on the narrative.
It’s ok. Just get #17 that’s the only one that really matters.
