I re-watched the 4th quarter last night. lol just so satisfying
Do you think it’s worth it to rewatch the entire game or just the fourth quarter? _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

But something about Lebron on the Lakers beating the Celtics for #17?

I can't believe this guy managed to get a 4 year $130 million contract.
When he was challenging LBJ and the Pacers looked like they could beat MIA in the playoffs, every person on this forum LOVED PG13. Kobe's heir apparent, people said. Remember that dunk he had on Birdman? Peak PG13 love affair.

People should stop doing that. Remember when they named Kyrie Kobe's heir apparent?...

Marshon Brooks was my favorite. (I don't think anyone meant that seriously, but his fadeaway was eerily similar.) Also, Laron Profit (by look alone).

That would be sweet but I don't know if I could take the stress of another Boston series. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold.

I hear ya.
Can you imagine if we had to face the Clips and then the Tics the same year? The stress level. Woo wee. _________________ 💜💛 🏆 👀 🍖 #18!!!

I respect guys who want to be like Kobe who don't play for us. Mainly Kyrie and Tatum.

Tatum has that look about him, but he lacks that next-level twitch/burst that Frobe had. And he's a little too "modern" for my tastes. What I mean by that is he only takes the "right" and "efficient" shot. But this is the playoffs. Inelastic offense -- offense that is often quite inefficient over the regular season - wins rings. At some point during an NBA run, you just need a guy to get you a bucket with a defender draped all over him. That means ugly mid-range J's. I'm not sure Tatum can do that - his footwork, skill, and aggression/IQ isn't there yet. He still hunts for the step-back 3 or drive to the rim first (but again, no burst - see the block by Bam).

Exactly.
I have yet to find another player that has that same contortion and move set that 24 had.
Don't get me wrong, there are a ton of great iso players in the league.
Plenty come to mind, but watching Kawhi in that satisfying game 7 reminded me that some of these guys still don't completely buy into their own confidence to take over a game by any means necessary.
In the Kobe era, we could of been down 10, 20, 30, with a minute left, and he would still be playing with the same urgency that you would want to see from your star throughout a game. He's not perfect, he's had his moments, but I would rather die on his hill then the current standards and/or play style of modern NBA teams. _________________ I miss you Kobe. I miss you Gigi.

Marshon had all the potential to be a star in the league and got drafted into the worst possible destination with the worst possible coach for him. It truly was a shame. Was nice to see flashes when he was on the Lakers though, but they didn't keep him after he and Bazemore looked like some solid young pieces for us to hold onto.
Still remember their first game together where they both tore up the Celtics and Marshon looked over at the Celtics bench each time he scored.
They literally got the nickname the "Killer B's" that night and I wish we'd held onto them tbh. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

Yikes I don’t want to dwell on those dark era. I only remember that Lakers wanted to resign him( Bazemore) for Deng contract but rejected us because of his pettiness. He basically hold grudge because we did not pick up his minuscule 1.1 mil extension. So he indirectly contributed to our demise. If he accept that offer, we could have easily move him. Right now, the Deng mistake still taking hit in our cap space.

With Bazemore, we were the ones that had the option on him, it wasn't a player option, it was a team option. We decided not to pick it up (which was dumb on our part) which allowed the Hawks to come sweeping in and offering him a bigger and longer contract that was better than what our offer to him would have been. So he signed with them. That was our oops, more so than his own.

People seem to think he was this can't miss player coming out of Duke.
I mean, he looked it. I remember saying that as a player, he was already in a place skillwise, coming out of high school, where Ingram was, coming out of Duke and considered him ahead of Ingram in the development scale.
But they're both coming into their own in the same year. Which is great for the both of them. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:
