Think it says more about Denver than Utah. _________________ 14-5-3-12 |

Not sure if anyone cares what round it happened in. The Warriors will always be synonymous with losing a 3-1 lead. _________________ “You have to dance beautifully in the box that you are comfortable dancing in.” - Kobe Bryant |

This was buried, repressed. I had to think about it for awhile what series you're talking about. Funny I went all the way back to 1993 when we were up 2-0 on the Suns as well. Then I remember the Kobe shot and fist. That highlight is always ruined for me knowing we didn't close the deal. No wonder I buried it. |

A 44-win team blowing a 3-1 lead in the first round to a 46-win team is pretty much a "who cares."
A 73-win team blowing a 3-1 lead in the finals to a 57-win team is mind-boggling. |

Most people don’t include a 1st round exit on their HoF reel but the fact that it was even a series was a real testament to Kobe and Phil. _________________ 14-5-3-12 |

That was a crazy series. Lakers had no business being up on that PHO team!
Lakers were a seventh seed with a starting lineup of Kobe, Lamar, Kwame, Luke and Smush. Against Nash, Stoudemire, Richardson, Frye and Barbosa. And of all people... Jared Dudley.
I remember believing it was going to happen. |

It's still such a blur that 2 years later Lakers would make the finals after this moment. With the lack of talent outside of Kobe & Odom, Mihm getting hurt was a big loss since he was a nice fit with Kobe on offense and if healthy would have been a nice to have for the Lakers title teams. It's still so crazy going from Kwame to Pau and Smush to D-Fish, with largely the same team that blew that 3-1 series lead with Kobe, Phil, Odom, Luke, Bynum, Sasha, & Turiaf would be in the finals in 2008. The general consensus is how unfair that the Lakers stole Pau that led to the Lakers "buying" a title from opposing teams and fans, yet the Lakers had a bunch of the same pieces from the same roster that blew a 3-1 lead would then go on to the finals 2 years later. |

Phoenix saved the Lakers from an embarrassing hallway series loss to the Clippers. |
