Lakers should take advantage of their height and develop a play for their centers. This will definitely give them points and if not foul.

yep some common sense stuff to do. Mcgee has a pretty efficient jump hook he can nail all day against the little guys guarding him. If we insist on keeping this same starting lineup that should be a no-brainer counter to do when they are putting all their attention on Lebron and AD.

McGee is hopeless. Dwight can but doesn’t make FT when get fouled so no advantage.

Lakers can develop plays for centers all day.

And at the same time, they'll probably get eaten on the other end.

But this will put them into foul trouble that would make the lakers attack the rim more often.

It’s a trap to try to run post ups for big guys against the Rockets. They’re excellent at using their stocky, strong, guards (and PJ Tucker) to keep from being backed down and they swarm quickly if the big man tries to make a move other than an unsuccessful backdown. They also swarm the paint a lot which makes it hard to get big guys a dunk off of lobs or from the dunker spot if we aren’t hitting enough threes to get them out of the paint.

AD did a great job in the paint last game. I hope he will do the same in game 4. ANd LBJ should start the game again in attack mode so the rest will follow. I would love to see Howard play against his former team.

Yep especially since our Centers are role players.

Now AD or Bron in the post is another thing. Bron in particular can find shooters even in traffic or cutters. He is a PG. AD, is not as potent, but can draw fouls (hit FTS at a solid rate) and also move the ball.

But posting up McGee or Howard would be a mistake and playing right into MDAs hands. In fact I bet that is what they thought we would do. What we should do is have our bigs run the floor every stop. Express. Get in the post, and if the Houston D is not set up, you could dominate that way.

This is what we we began doing in the second game, and it has been very effective when we run off stops.

kinda bummed Dwight hasn't gotten minutes vs Rockets. Would think he'd be amped to show up Harden.

I think the Lakers may have figured out the formula for not playing Mcgee or Dwight.

What I noticed is when Mcgee played, they had better rim protection..but at the same time they were slower to rotations after double teaming Harden which gave up open 3's and the floor was less spread on the offensive end..and he wasn't really getting offensive rebounds. So his size wasn't as effective here to keep him in the game.

So they simply had Lebron play rim protector so they can both defend the perimeter and the rim..its just so awesome that Lebron can do this..4 blocks in 1 quarter..that is hard for any player, even 7 footers.

I remember one play where Westbrook drove to the basket..and he came off his man from the perimeter and blocked the shoot from behind. That is so amazing!

It’s called the flappy bird. DLO did it while on the bench, standing by an unimpressed Kobe.

Plays for our one dimensional (offensively) bigs won’t work against Houston’s zone/illegal defense.

There just not effective enough in this matchup. Even defensively Since houston shoots soo many threes.

Great idea. We should post up Dwight more. That'll learn 'em!

Now that Davis is at the 5, I agree with this thread!

We don't have a skilled nor dominant Center lol.

Or a center that just need to shoot FT well.

Nope.

Just not play them in this series. They are both offensively challenge to demand any plays and not quick enough to rotate defensively.
