Kwame's new nickname is 'Doo Doo Brown', because he STINKS and plays like big pile if sh!t!!!

He's a waste of space, a waste of time, and a waste of money.

Blame Jordan and Collins for Kwame's lack of development. The Wiz had no direction at that time, and wasted their draft pick. As for Kwame, he can still play better man on man defense in the post than any other player on the Lakers. I realize that many can't see past offense, but defense is much more important.

We can see it. We also see his piss poor help defense and slow rotation/recovery.

What can you do about it, really?

It is what it is.

I try not to focus on Kwame's offense at all. He is a 2 year project for this team.

Yea, maybe in two years he can learn to catch the freakin ball!!! It's like 4 on 5 when he's on the court...

Still, he is the best interior defender they have.

I think my favorite was when someone started a thread, "can Kwame average 20 and 10" after he scored like 19 points in a preseason game.

That's not saying alot. Unfortunately alot of team defense is predicated on rotations and help defense...Kwame's lack of basketball IQ and heart makes him a below average help/weakside defender. Just watch Ben Wallace to see a defensive player who plays with heart and effort....and this is a cat that wasn't even drafted. If Kwame gave half the effort we wouldn't have such a problem with him.

Word. He's more likely to break out in acne than on offense.

He literally needs to solely commit himself to being a defensive force. One step at a time. Shouldn't be allowed to do anything on offense except dunk on oops and on putbacks.

He's the best halfcourt, man-on-man post-defender we have, which means he's essentially worthless against a team without a consistent low post-threat (most teams in fact), like the Celtics for example. He should be sent to the Lakers' D-League team.

Fred Hetzel, drafted 1st by SFW in '69, 6 seasons, 11.2, 5.9 & 1.1

I'm feeling more and more like this trade is going to lead to the dismissal of Kupchak at season's end. Somebody has to take the fall for this mess.
Wasn't it made clear at the beginning of the season, that the Lakers were not going to contend for a number of years? Don't you think that was a pretty realistic appraisal? This "mess" ia about what the Laker execs/coaches expected, I doubt any "heads will roll".[/url]

The trouble with Kwame is that he can't get past step 1.

If the guy can't handle it offensively, then he should just try to be Ben Wallace. He's got such a great physique, he should just aim to get every single rebound and loose ball and just block some shots.

That's right keep it up. Lakers fans are doing just what the wizard fans did. Give Kwame 3 shots per game and blame him for everything that's wrong with the team. Smart!

It's not the three shots he gets. It's the four he can't take because he fumbled the ball.

This is the way i see it. Until his offense develops he should really work on being a defensive juggernaut.

Kwame was this way in washington, so it shouldnt be that big of a suprise. Just another bad move by our bad GM. How can someone be so off on layup attempts? Its sad but I guess Bynum would be worse

I havn't seen anyone mention this, but he's also a terrible rebounder for his size. He probably only get to 20% of any contested rebounds. He has no hops and just doesn't play with enough intensity to be a very good rebounder.

Oh yeah, his offense sucks too.

That is why his best two games were against Shaq and Yao.

Great, then we're in agreement. Send him to the D-League and then call him up when we play the Rockets or Heat.

And play Odom at center? I'll stick with Kwame.

The same way he did against Brand I imagine. He can only body up against slow plodding centers.
