Both minimum level salary players who will be HOFers. At some point both of these guys were considered total trash and cancers at worst, however, they beyond earned their keep. Do you think them on the clippers (rondo for distributing and dwight for handling jokic) would have definitely put them over the top?

I don't think so. I think the locker room would have exploded due to lack of team leadership, no cohesion, and a bunch of selfish pricks for teammates. Total collapse with D39 and Rondo on the roster.
D39 - no appreciation nor acceptance, no redemption story.
Rondo- no willingness to accept the pure BS that is PG13, nor lack of leadership from KL, in spite of his star treatment.
Rondo would've busted PG in the nose early in the season and gotten waived. _________________ On Lakersground, a concern troll is someone who is a fan of another team, but pretends to be a Lakers fan with "concerns".

Recipe for disaster.
Yeah, Dwight especially I see not having remotely the same kind of success on the Clippers. You have to give Dwight massive props for what he did this year but our veterans and Vogel were a huge part on top of the whole "redemption" story and wanting to make Kobe proud and regain the Lakers fans respect.
There were rumblings from several guys earlier in the season as well and when you have no real leadership to keep everyone at least somewhat grounded and things start getting a little uneasy it can quickly fall apart and suddenly you have these massive egos all deflecting blame onto each other.
This is why Lebron and Vogel especially deserve monumental amount of props for always acting like leaders and treating the whole roster like a family with the utmost respect. You have guys like McGee and Howard who I promise you wanted to play badly not only not complaining but still looking happy at all times and cheering on the rest of the team.
Analytics and "paper great rosters" should never be the full measuring stick of any team sport. Guys like Lebron and Do might have the stats as well but what they really bring to a team in the Playoffs is all the unmeasurable intangibles that get looked past by the majority of franchises. It's like having 2 extra elite coaches making on the fly adjustments right on the floor with those two. There's pretty much nothing you can throw at them that they have not seen already and will figure out quickly.
Rondo is as hard-headed as they come, and the only way it worked is there was LeBron to somehow rein him in.
Imagine him with a so-called leader who never talks, or a fake leader like PG, a loudmouth who's very limited talent-wise like Beverly. That's a lockerroom implosion waiting to happen. _________________ “Properly read, the bible is the most potent force for atheism ever conceived.”

As the Clips have shown, having player talent often doesn't work - see the Kobe, Shaquans, Mailman and GP year
Who would win between a Finals between the Heat and the Clippers - Heat!
Clippers will have a hard time getting out of the Western Conference with the
* Lakers
* Warriors
* Nuggets
* Mavs
* Jazz
* Trailblazers
having teams with talent that can serously challenge them
Teams with youth and energy such as
* Pelicans
* Kings
* Spurs
* TWolves
will push themG13 and Kwahi had the authority to load management their playing time.
It might be a similar position with the Nets where KD and Kyrie feel that they are co-coaches with Nash
I genuinely think that Dwight and Rondo would not have worked as well on many of the other teams in the league other than us. LeBron is just that impressive a team leader
The only teams I could see having worked for them are the Heat, Warriors (fully healthy) and possibly the Nuggets _________________ #18 next...
Frank Vogel is a much better coach than Doc. He knew what to do with Dwight and when (and how) to use him. Ditto with Rondo. Everyone was on Frank about Rondo, but he knew.
Doc would give his rah rah speeches, but in the end. He would have no clue how to balance that talent.
So would have hurt us in the sense we may not have had enough to beat Denver (without Dwight Joker kills us) and Miami (without Rondo, dunno if we can win that series)
who knows, (don't care, not to say your topic is not worthy post OP) but who saw that Dwight-Rondo is playoff better than Montrezl-Lemon Pepper Lou (what a great nick name). Did Montrezl even outplay MPJ?

Rondo would have fought PG for being soft and Kawhi for load management at some point. There would have been nobody to reign in Dwight, so he would have gone to get lemon pepper wings with Lou Williams and clowned around in general. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:
No. The Clippers are the Clippers. Doc Rivers wouldn't have known how to utilize them. Have to give Vogel a lot of credit here for bringing out the best in everyone. _________________ LeGoat! LeMazing! LeGend!

Doc Rivers had (AT LEAST) 2 elite immensely talented rosters capable of winning a title. They couldn't even get out of the 2nd round. _________________ So glad we gave you your flowers while you were here, Kobe.
No, because they are both high IQ players, who would feel like they’d be wasting their time on the Clippers. _________________ “You have to dance beautifully in the box that you are comfortable dancing in.” - Kobe Bryant
They don't even need DH. just Rondo on Clippers gets them the chip.
DOC was stupid to play harrell and Lou so many 4th quarter minutes when they were horrible on D. Had he played Zubac and JMG more, clippers would have beat Nuggets

My guess is most Lakers fans will believe that the team's culture kept these guys lesser impulses in check, but I think they would have done fine on the Clippers. They both seem to have matured before they joined the Lakers.
On paper, they might have gotten the Clippers over the hump. But you never know how the chemistry will play out in real life.
