One thing no one mentions when it comes to load managing for the upcoming season is that if we don't get the top seed, we'll likely have a tough first round opponent versus one that we can easily beat.
Imagine if we had to play the Mavs in the first round of the playoffs instead of Portland.
Eh, Mavs with an injured Porzingis and Doncic would have been easier than healthy Lilliard.
That may not be the case next season with the 7th seed.
With LeBron nearing age 36, playing the 8th seed instead of the 7th or 6th seed in the first round of the playoffs can be part of our load management strategy. That way, LeBron can conserve some energy for the later playoff rounds.
This is why getting a ball-handling guard who will be our 3rd scorer will be key, because he'll allow LeBron to conserve some energy in the regular season too without sacrificing getting a top seed. _________________ Lakers 49ers Chargers Dodgers
I want the Lakers to be playing with momentum going into the playoffs regardless of venue. Winning on the road will always be what a champion does. The only place where venue is a real threat is Denver ... now that’s a true homecourt advantage due to the elevation. Crowd intimidation is a factor to the emotional youth, not our team. The trick sustaining health and momentum is to start and finish games strong... allow your role players to maintain a lead made by the hot start of your marquee players. Our goal should be to allow the bench to kill it in the 2nd and 3rd quarters. And then lean on AD and Bron to cruise out the 4th. We should be sitting them the last 6 mins of every game, if our bench is successful throughout the year. Avoidance of OT’s is a must. _________________ DEAR BASKETBALL

Wow, you and Rob had the same thinking. Eerie timing of your post. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:
Seeding is meaningless. All that matters is that they’re healthy when the playoffs start. As long as they have LeBron and AD, no team can challenge them.
With COVID infections hitting record highs everyday, I think we might see another lockdown. I don't think the Pfizer vaccine will be widely distributed in time to salvage 2021 season. It would have to be bubble or very strict guidelines for fans in attendance.
Probably the bolded. The players are going to say hell no to a bubble format and I think Europe had another lockdown but soccer went on with no fans. EPL, La Liga, etc.
Opening up luxury boxes with rapid testing could bring some much needed revenue.
Ticketmaster maybe requiring a negative covid test or proof of vaccination to enter concerts. Its possible we may see something similar for fans if that is feasible.
