If Pau accepts that he is done playing basketball (it's going to be 2 years without playing soon) we should sign him for the staff and then sign Marc.

Money, and I am sure with losing Ibaka, the Raps now are willing to overpay Marc to keep him.

I wouldn't hope that Pau is going to convince Marc on that. Marc has won every trophy he could win in his career except the Olympics game. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if he goes for the money in a bad team and then go to the Olympic Games.

Do it, Rob!
I like that, farewell tour for Pau, then a place on the staff or front office.

I was thinking the same thing! Pau's priority was reported to be staying in the NBA (before COVID at least, due to family reasons) so it'd make sense.
With Marc this team would have insane playmaking potential....

Gasol is a worse Zubac for the Clippers, he won't move the needle like Ibaka would. Gasol moves the needle for us more just because of his post scoring and passing. We don't have that element at the C spot yet. DeMarcus would add the same element

This. Both can add another dimension and versatility on matchup purposes. We also have AD to erase most of their mistakes . I prefer Gasol though .

1 of Clippers/Warriors/Raptors are more likely to get Marc Gasol then the Lakers, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we get him in the last minute, hopefully LeBron/AD are already recruiting Gasol.

My apologies, but I really don't understand how you arrive at this conclusion. What makes the Clippers a more likely destination? They have Ibaka and Zubac already. Toronto makes sense, but the issue there is winning. They don't have enough to legitimately compete for a ring. Warriors just drafted Wiseman but I could see him there if Klay didn't just get injured. So they're championship
chances took a massive hit. Plus they run Draymond at center a lot.

Here he's likely getting guaranteed minutes in crunch time as he brings low post defense, shooting and passing. McGee is a starter in name only. Gasol would be starting and finishing in the playoffs with a clear path to win a ring. That's not the case with any of the other locations

You are right, in essence we should be the favorites to get Gasol, we will see what happens.

In an interview a week ago he said he wanted to go to a contender. That he's too old to lose games and want a chance to win.
Also that he is not as picky as his brother Pau about the city

That could be something to think about. Sign Morris with that raise, Gasol, another veteran and then sign an undrafted player for the 14th spot. Or maybe give that spot to Cacok.

Or Pau can join Worthy, Horry on Spectrum, he can even do commentary on the Spanish side.

In other words if Lakers can’t dump McGee bye bye Marc

He was part of the trade package to receive Pau from the Grizzlies. He was not on the team, but more of a prospect at the time since he was a second round selection.

At the time, the Grizzlies got raked over the coals for the deal because Kwame was the headliner of the pieces going to Memphis in the deal. In hindsight, it ended up being a good trade for both teams. Marc had lots of good seasons for them, including winning a DPOY award. The Lakers got Pau and won a few championships with him.
