Yeah, I don't know what Shoes' point is with this thread.
I thought West played very well yesterday.
True he fouled out. But if I'm not mistaken, one of those fouls came when he intentionally fouled Kobe on a two-on-one fast break in the first half. Kid saved a sure basket. And how many points did we lose by? |
The point is Sasha could easily get the most improved award on this team. You may not see it, or probably aren't even looking for it but, Sasha has changed a lot from last season. Sure West played well because the rest of our defense sucked. No way West should have had that many assist. The Lakers were all out of position on D and, the word "help" never even entered the equation so, naturally all Delonte had to do was pass the ball to either Pierce or an assortment of others who he quarterbacked with ease. Lets say our defense was clicking on all cylinders? Sasha's work would have made a differance then. When the dedication and effort from all of the the guys equals Sasha the Lakers are at that moment going to be ready to contend... _________________ "According to ESPN.com's conference projections, the Lakers will finish 12th in the West, which prompted Bryant to tweet earlier this offseason, "12th I see.." |

Sure laugh Pip but, Odoms heroics put the Lakers in position to win that last game and. that even your biased self can't deny. Had Cook hit him with that final pass instead of Kobe you aren't even making these snide remarks... It's ok to joke, but reality is a (bleep) ain't it? _________________ "According to ESPN.com's conference projections, the Lakers will finish 12th in the West, which prompted Bryant to tweet earlier this offseason, "12th I see.."

That's bull (bleep) because the Clipper game was the first of 5 of a "no show" and you can lie about that all you like... Cause that is exactly what it would be.
Lets go Pip! Bring it!

I bet that Sasha will think about the loss a lot more than Delonte will feel bad about his win...
I know you're trying to find the silver lining in the cloud, but please try and find something better than Sasha to harp on. Ronny Turiaf would be a good example. |

That is exactly what I was thinking.
If by tormenting him, you mean him having one of the best games of his career, then I guess the boy they call Sasha did that.
But West used him regularly and Sasha got lost more than once and gave up wide open looks to him.
Don't confuse being spastic 50 feet from the basket for good defense. I would be happier if he could be spastic within the last 15 feet to the basket when he is getting beaten like a drum by every average PG in the league, including DelMonte Tomato West. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

It's not that Lanny and, I know you certainly don't want to hear about Sasha and your opinion I always respect. However the guys does always try. Of late that effort has been known to disrupt opposing offenses. His instincts are'nt bad and all of that hustle sometimes results in steals.
Nobody can shut down great offensive movers in the NBA completely. We've seen what happens to the best of defenders. Sasha has potential IMO _________________ "According to ESPN.com's conference projections, the Lakers will finish 12th in the West, which prompted Bryant to tweet earlier this offseason, "12th I see.." |

I did. I said between Ronny and, Sasha the attitudes will push these two to higher hights in the future. That was my point in the first place till the "Muppet balcony guys" chimed in... _________________ "According to ESPN.com's conference projections, the Lakers will finish 12th in the West, which prompted Bryant to tweet earlier this offseason, "12th I see.." |
