This could be the deepest team since the Showtime Lakers. We ahve some really nice starting fives and a couple of teams that went 7-8 deep. But 1-14 its looking like maybe the deepest team we have since the 1990's. _________________ LAKERS 2019-2020: NBA World Champions! |

Amen. Showtime Lakers got nothing on this squad.

Probably the best in 30 years, more talented than any Kobe/Shaq or Kobe/Gasol roster.
But no where close to the talent of the Showtime Lakers. Those teams went to 9 finals, winning 5 championships;
They had 4 HOF players in Kareem, Magic, James Worthy and Jamaal Wilkes....plus DPOY in Michael Cooper. Also had key role and bench players with Norm Nixon, Byron Scott, HOF'er Bob McAdoo, AC Green, Mychal Thompson, Kurt Rambis and Spencer Haywood.
This team is definitely the deepest I've seen and will be a lot of fun to watch. I'm really looking forward to this season. I think it will be as exciting as those Showtime years and the 3-peat with Shaq/Kobe.

Most talented team period. I can’t think of any way to fill in the sentence below.
“The Lakers are going to have a tough game when they play a game at ____”. |

I believe Kobe and Shaq to be superior talents to Bron and AD.. but their teams were a bit top heavy.. So I can see an argument being made for this team being more talented considering all the complimentary pieces.
I also think Kobe, Pau, and Odom are superior talents collectively than Bron and AD.. |

As the 1971-72 Laker team won 33 games in a row, there isn't enough data yet to make this determination.

Even though I was just a young kid, I remember that season. There were only 17 teams in the league back then and some truly bad ones.
I'm so glad that record still stands. Even happier to have been lucky enough to have seen Chamberlain and Jerry West play. |

With THT playing like this, lakers are 11 deep...
Hard to distribute the minutes.
Assuming Schroeder and gasol starting with KCP, lebron, AD
We got Matthews, Ac, THT, Trez, keef, Kuz. It is a good problem to have, but we can’t run 11 deep every game. |

McGee was instant points. Rambis was an intelligent hack. Not as talented as he thought he was - but he played his role perfectly. Set hard picks, ran the floor and did the dirty work. _________________ On Lakersground, a concern troll is someone who is a fan of another team, but pretends to be a Lakers fan with "concerns". |

More proven and some great young talent role players.

Kobe was not a superstar back then. You have NVE and Eddie Jones blocking Kobe’s development |

We are 11 deep. Any of those 11 were either starters at one point or would be a starter in at least half of today’s league.
Then we have Dudley, an important leadership piece. We also have McKinnie and Cook who aren’t bad role players either. |

Eddie Jones
Nick Van Excel
Elden Campbell
Rick Fox

All this because some dude had a great game in the preseason.
I wish I could go back and do a QFOS about every young player that Lakersground get overhyped about after a single game. I've literally seen posters comapre THT to Harden, Manu and Paul Pierce. |
