No he's not (on the bolded). Over the last 3 years he's refined his game to essentially become a consistent high volume 3 point shooter, taking a ton of step-back three's, with his 3 point attempt rate climbing as high as 56%. His shots went to 20, 25 and 22 a night and his FT rate decreased, as he put up 10, 13 and 12 threes a night (making around 37% of them). That narrative needs to die.

How do you figure that his FT rate decreased when it actually increased almost 8% between 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons?

Harden gets used to getting all the calls in the regular season. The NBA loves to manufacture/inflate his stats.

When the playoffs begin and there are naturally less whistles, he doesn’t know what to do other than complain to the referees and Jack up 3s against more locked in defenses with schemes, etc.

We literally go through this every (bleep) season with Harden. Maybe if he didn’t foul hunt so much and played an honest game, the basketball gods would actually reward him with more personal and team success in the playoffs.

Because his shots increased in 2019 and 2020 (career high in 2019...an increase of almost 5 shots per). Prior to that he only broke 20 shots per game, once, in 2018 (20.1 per game). In the next two seasons he took 24.5 and 22.3 shots a night. Equates to shooting FT's at a lower rate relative to how much he's shooting. His rate is currently down this season as well. 8 a night on around 18 shots, when he used to take 10 a game based on that shot total. But again, around half of his shots now are three pointers (this season as well).

He takes around 1-2 less fts per game in the playoffs. He takes around the same number of three pointers in the playoffs each year. He actually took 2 less three pointers per game last postseason. All false narratives.

Not really. Sorry Dream but you are heavily biased towards Harden.

It’s easy to see it happening over and over every season.

I’m not going to discuss or argue tbh. You have your view of Harden and I have mine. There is nothing false narrative about him...why would so many get annoyed by his style of basketball.

Nothing false about it. Simply look at his stats. They don't correspond to what you think you are seeing, comparing the regular season to the playoffs (less calls, jacking more threes, etc).

While hitting over half their threes on nearly 40 attempts. Should've been a blow out.

Does Harden like being the 3rd banana?

Kyrie is making damn sure he’s 1st or 2nd.

*Kyrie hogs the ball*

*Gets knocked out in the playoffs*

*KD and Harden trade him for pieces*

No Butler, Bradley, OR Herro.

Not that Bradley is worth anything on that team anyway, but Butler and Herro are important to that team. Brooklyn is not that great yet.

Don't worry they'll have a game soon where they go absolutely crazy offensively and people will be afraid of them again like clock work

When he went there he said he was willing to take a step back. He didn’t mind being a 3rd option in OKC either. And he’s their best passer.

Defense is their issue.

Celtics destroyed the Cavs by 38 pts. Yet Nets bandwagons saying that Cavs is a good team justifying why they lost twice.

Part of there bad defense starts and ends with Harden along with Kyrie as well so it's not really fixable unless those two suddenly become great defensive players which i'd be willing to bet my bank account on not happening.

Saying he didn't mind being 3rd option when he was on his rookie contract and still growing as a player is 100% irrelevant to the player he is in 2021. I don't agree at all that he'll just be completely fine with it if it stays the way things are for the entire season. They're still in that honeymoon phase where it's all still new so there wont be any issues for a little while probably due to that but later in the season I have a feeling we'll see that good ol' angry Harden glaring at Kyrie at times when he looks like a shell of himself playing off the ball.

Yup their defense is unfixable as long as they are playing Harden and Kyrie at the same time for big minutes. Add to that Joe Harris. 3 guys with no defense manning the perimeter for a large chunk of time is a disaster in the making.
