Bingo!

This Organization is a joke.

I wouldn't go as far as saying that this organization has become a joke. At least we are still competing, still in the playoff hunt, and retained the best player today to play for us. It's just that we've fallen on the wayside because of an incompetent GM who should get fired immediately.

If you want a joke of an organization at the moment, look no further than the New York Knicks.

I also found that quote VERY disturbing, almost like saying we don't care about you and if you want to cancel, here is how.

The Knicks have been a joke for sometime now, and we're starting to look like a joke aswell.

John Black's response was very disturbing and i'm not even sure they care about us fans suffering at this point.

Sorry, but all of sports is a "what have you done for me lately" business. It doesn't only apply to the Lakers or only to basketball.

Most reasonable people are patient when they know the team has had success. But lack of positive moves and lack of progress wears patience thin very quickly.

Personally speaking, I don't expect a championship immediately. But I do expect improvement. If I don't see improvement, I start to get mad...

Considering that Dr. Buss charges more than any other team in the NBA (outside of the Knicks if I'm not mistaken), then he has to fess up to poor performance.

Great email. Thanks for the response.

I also have some season tixs and am pissed off at this team. However, it clearly shows that they do not get it.

What they don't realize is how far and fast this team has fallen from the pinnacle.

He also fails to forget that his boss and their GM promised the fans that we would make the playoff this year and would hopefully go to the second round.

He also failed to recognize the comments made by kupcake when the lakers traded shaq.

He said that for this organization, going to the final is considered a failure. We are about winning. We will trade shaq because we want to continue to compete for championship. We don't want to rebuild like the Bulls.

Tell him that we are rebuilding and this is complete contradiction of their previous statements.

Why didn't John Black spin the Shaq trade? Couldn't he have said positive things about Lamar Odom too?

I'd write back and ask him what he means by this statement.

It could mean they are willing to give some sort of perks to people who don't feel they are getting their money's worth this season.

Or, as some people here who always like to assume the worst have already assumed, it could mean that there is still a waiting list for season tickets and if you are truly unhappy there are others on the list who are willing to relieve you of the expense and bother of attending our games.

But someone who is a season ticket holder could contact Veronica and see what it means and come back here and tell us, intead of others assuming they already know.

Poor use of grammar and typing in lowercase when starting a bullet point? Plus, to get so specific and defensive? I don't think so. Come on... Black is head of PR for the Lakers. He knows how to WRITE for god's sake. This is all crap. You guys buying into this are fooling yourselves.

In reading many of these responses, I wonder this: What did you expect him to say? That we banked on a home run and struck out, sorry? That our GM and owner's son can't see eye to eye, thus nothing gets done? I mean, seriously. There is nothing else he can say. He has to be politically correct, he has to remind you of the many titles and thus the dedication to winning they've always shown, he has to ask for patience, and he has to put any and every move into a positive light.

You guys are funny. I suppose it would have been better if John hadn't responded at all. In that way, he couldn't have said something "wrong", which is actually inevitable in any answer he could have given (someone will always find reasons to be upset by a perceived inference).

I caught that little omission as well.

But what was he going to say?

Lamar is doing great? He's been everything we've hoped for? He leaves it all out on the floor every night?

It's hard to spin when LO's scoring, rebounding, and FG% is lower under Phil Jackson (a coach he was supposed to thrive with) than it was under Rudy T and Hamblem.

it means; "we are the only game in town, and we know this. so if you want to (bleep) and moan and cancel your tickets, let us know because we got a thousand suckers lined up right behind you to buy them". thats what it means.
but that tune will be changin next year when the new orleans saints come callin to LA and they hire pete carrol as coach. NFL owns nba all day long and 3 times on sunday. the saints will be the #1, #2 and #3 ticket and the lakers will have to work to keep the fans coming!

why would i make up this story. why......ms212 gave the email a few days ago. i acted on it. i used my account with the lakers to see if i could get a response back. i did. i was suprised based on what ms212 said no response back but he did and im assuming because of the season ticket holder status. i dont believe some of you. i share something and im lying. by your response you make people not want to share anything. how about some common courtesy.

The fact that people thinks it's a joke speaks volumes about the state of the organization.

im real suprised i got a response back. Mitch kupchek and all the managment have the same patton answers... they must go to a class. im going to keep emailing until they do something about this team. i love the lakers and im not one of the fans that cant wait for them to be a better team but some positive moves have to be made.

PULL IT TOGETHER. THIS TEAM IS ON THE RIGHT TRACK. Now all its going to take is time. Repeat, time. Say it with me....time.

Phil fully intends on this team coming together in the next month or so and charging into the playoffs, I could see it taking another year, but I trust Phil. He is a big picture kind of guy. Everyone likes to complain about his rotations and timeouts, well newsflash, HE IS EXPERIMENTING with a young team, trying to figure out the best method.

All of the guys on this team can play, yes they are inconsistent, but that will change with TIME and experience. Sooner or later they will cover each other's weaknesses, bust tail on D and be one of the better teams in the league. The Kings game is proof.

You have to be joking, right?

You're using the fact that we beat a sub-.500 team to prove that we will "be one of the better teams in the league?"
