In the mid 80's to early 90's his toe would have been fixed in 10 mins. In todays NBA I fully expect him to miss 2 weeks of games. |
Back in my day...
Who really needs a toenail. Mine fell off and it took a couple months to grow back. Just get a toe cover or band aid and get back out there. |

That all said, though, losing toenails is pretty common in basketball. He'll be fine if that is all that it is, and should play in the next game. I've personally lost nails on both feet multiple times and still played. I've played with people who have lost toenails too.
My personal feeling is that he'll play tomorrow, but if he doesn't it would probably be due to swelling from the contusion part of the injury, which makes it very difficult to run and jump (especially for a big man). In which case he'd probably miss only that game as contusions don't last that long. |
Pretty much my exact take on it as well. It's something he can def. play through it will just hurt for awhile as it's growing back/healing.
Different sport but I lost mine playing receiver in football and I still played even though I will say it hurt like a b when making cuts especially but considering he will be getting top of the line medical care and like Baron said is fairly ground bound it should be fine to play through until it's healed. |

Lidocaine ointment and a good toe wrap is all he needs. This day to day or missing days is crap. I think he plays. |

Different sort of injury, but back in my early 20's I had a bad case of shin splints. Holy cow, if you ran it would feel like your shins were on FIRE. Extremely uncomfortable (had to use ice literally right after getting off the field to give the sensation of "cooling down" my shin). Eventually got them fixed, but your comment made me think of that. An "injury" that can be played through, but holy hell does it hurt when you do. _________________ "One thing I admire about Kuzma is his unwavering confidence. If it’s just a missing toe nail, I agree. But Trudell on Spectrum reported it as a contusion, which could be a bone contusion which would be more serious. |

He'd wear his own toe nail on his helmet to try and intimidate his opponent into thinking he's a complete nutjob _________________ "One thing I admire about Kuzma is his unwavering confidence. He truly has no idea that he’s not as good as he thinks." - Killer_Z |

Surprised the Nets didn't go after Drummond. |

Contusion is just a 'scary medical' way of saying 'bruise'.

I think me keeping things short gave the impression that im against extending ad2. Im honestly not. But there’s just no way unless he gives us a humongous discount or we gut our team and he gives a big discount. See below fro better context: |

“A game or two”
Quote: | There is optimism that Lakers center Andre Drummond will not miss more than a game or two with his right big toe injury, sources told @wojespn and me. L.A. plays at Sacramento on Friday, then the Clippers in L.A. on Sunday before embarking on a five-game East Coast road trip |

Since he’s not playing tomorrow, might as well sit him for Sunday. Just come back against Raptors next Tuesday. That’s 6 days off. Lakers don’t really stand a chance with a healthy Clippers anyways.
Getting your whole toe nail off is pretty painful, can have a lot of inflammation. Marc is better than a hobbled Drummond. |

Felt the same way. Didn’t get much lift on a little jumphook and got swatted by Lopez. Hopefully that was the toe and not a continuation of the lack of pop he had shown in Cleveland. |
