Orlando 104, Lakers 103

This should be an easy win for us. Hence the loss.

Following a one-point loss in their last game, the Los Angeles Lakers look to avoid a third straight defeat when they take on the Orlando Magic.

Los Angeles dropped to 4-8 in February with a 112-111 loss to Boston on Sunday. With the game tied, Kobe Bryant fouled the Celtics' Paul Pierce with 3.2 seconds remaining, and Pierce made one of two free throws for his 39th point of the game to give Boston the win.

Bryant, who scored 40 points but was held to three in the final period, missed from the top of the key as time expired.

"I am very frustrated. We shouldn't have lost this game," Bryant said. "We are not coming out ready to play."

For the second straight game, the Lakers star wasn't nearly as productive after halftime. Bryant had 39 points Friday, but 25 came in the first half of the Lakers' 102-83 loss to the Clippers. He has reached the 35-point mark in five of the Lakers' last seven defeats as Los Angeles continues to struggle to find Bryant some offensive support.

Lakers beat Magic 104-88 in Orlando on December 23. All 5 starters (Lakers) got double figures in scoring, Kobe was 6-16 from the floor, for 21, and 9 assists. Lakers shot 49+%, Magic 39+%, Steve Francis (now a Knick) led all scorers with 28. [boxscore]

I think with the Magic still getting used to new personel, Lakers win this one. ORL, has a ROAD losing streak, but won against SEA last Friday.

Lakers 109 Magic 92

Darko will have a career night 5 pts 5 boards in a career high 11 minutes of play the will have season lows in pts., FG%, FT%, Rebounds, assists and highs in TO's, offensive boards for the opposition, and defense with Orlando going for 507 pts.

Realistically though, I'll take the Lakers 96-88.

I think I'm starting to fall in love with Darko's game after watching him play in the last few. He'll block 4 shots on the Lakers tonight. Wish we could've swooped in and got him from Detroit rather than being stuck with Kwame.

Lakers will win tonight though

Losses to struggling teams are very hard to take and I can tell that Kobe is frustrated. Hopefully he won't let the Lakers lose. I predict a win.

It's gonna be another disappointment loss, a close one where we should've won. Lakers better play with energy the whole game if they wanna win this.

Someone send this thread to one of the coaches and have them post it in their locker room. Lakers should be proud to see their fans have so little faith in them beating a horrible team like Orlando.

Naw, on second thought, forget it. They'll probably just read it and think, "Oh cool. We don't need to win this one, nobody expects us to win. Let's just chill."

I agree - I don't think Kobe will let this one get away.

Oh, I have a feeling his teammates will do everything in their power to stop him again.

carlos arroyo has been on a tear the last few games. We suck at defending dribble penetration.
