His shooting fell way off this year. 32.5% vs 40+% the previous 2 years.
this was also the last year of the contract, so no great loss as far as the Rocket's were concerned

If his "bad" defense was simply a function of bad coaching, etc.. and he has the athleticism and effort to fit in on the perimeter D for the Lakers?

Oh, boy.

Oh, boy.

he was known as a pretty good defender in college
but, he was on the Kings for years and then the Rocket's - neither team ever really played D
Put him on a team where everyone is expected to play D, and let's see if more of tonight happens.

Is he better than pj Tucker? The guy some were willing to trade most anyone for.

That's an apples vs. oranges comparison. Ben is a 6'3 shooting guard. PJ, a 6'5 bruising pf/small ball center

Pj is a corner 3 guy.

Would be a really fun boost if he did.

Man I'm glad Ben is finally in a good situation. I loved watching this guy when he was in college playing for the Jayhawks.

Said this before, but I love how he fires away. KCP can be hesitant and that’s why he’s on the floor. This guy has no fear, hope he keeps rolling.

Great pickup!!! He's here not to be a star. He's here to shoot and play a little D. Pressure is off him.

His drop off Might have to do with not getting as much easy looks with no Harden.

His shot looks kind of similar to Ray Allen. The fact he just lets it fly and has the potential of catching fire will just open the floor even more for the Lakers. KCP/Wes/Caruso don’t really shoot unless open.

Loved it - just a pure stroke and let’s it fly with no hesitation. I liked how he showed they midrange pull up also off the dribble.

And his defense was very solid.

I think it also got KCP to wake up now that he knows his minutes are threatened.

Rob and Klutch come through for us again!

I like his confidence. And he has a good looking release too. Pelinka did great with these buyout signings.

I looked at some of the shoots he made. It seems Trez was involved in a few them. The corner 3 where Caruso swung the pass across the court, Trez screened the man guarding him. And the 2 pointer near the top of the key, Trez screened his man also.

But interesting to see if these 2 make a good combo. Didn’t expect it but let’s see.

hoping he became at least an above average defender in Vogel system so that he will always be in the rotation. He has potential though.

I noticed that apparent chemistry as well. I don't think they overlapped during their respective times on the rockets, did they?

A shooter.

Amazing how hot/cold this guy can be.

I appreciate the team encouraging him to "keep shooting" but maybe just a bit of shot selection should be encouraged too. The man will jack it up from anywhere at anytime. Including off balance, out of position/rushed or man in his face.

2/7 in 14 mins? With a couple air balls. Love /hate with him is going to be tough to manage.

I'd still play him more - his ability to get hot is JR Smith like where you still have to honor his presence and it spreads the court

Once Lebron comes back he will be getting practice like wide open looks, right now he is having to force some shots
