I don't feel he is a last resort signing like JR and Dion were last year. With the current lack of production from the SG"s I hope Vogel gives him a test run.

Good, this move will light a fire under KCP and Wes!

Why would either be looking over their shoulders for him?

Both are better shooters and defenders.

Maybe Caruso and THT?

Guess with only 3 days left Lakers don’t think they could get anyone else

Welcome Ben McLemore, hopefully he can provide us the same way he did last year for the Rockets.

Yeah, doubt an Avery Bradley reunion was realistic anyway, dude is dealing with yet another injury (knee soreness).

Anyone know if McLemore will be available against the Raptors or will Vogel have him do practice?

As long as he gets Wes's minutes I'm good.

Doubt he plays much in the future let alone tonight. if we are waiting for practice time good luck as we have had what 13 the whole year.

Well if this game was in Canada 100% NO, still very doubtful, even much better player AD2 had to get a practice in before playing.

2018-20 he shot well from three (above 40%), and then not so well this current season. So, it's all about whether he can get his act together and get back to his previous shooting accuracy.

This gives Vogel more flexibility to run small ball lineups with Ben at the 3 at least until Lebron returns. Wes may be the odd man out as he already was benched earlier in the season and only started playing regularly due to Lebron's injury.

Yeah, if BMck was already struggling to find his shot prior to signed with LAL then you know he's doomed.

Ironically Wes is currently shooting better than BML and he’s also a much better defender.

Cranjis McBasketball
@Tim_NBA

Here's how Ben McLemore stacks up with the NBA's other guards on the 3&D scale this season.

Also highlighted are LA's other Guards.

He's brought 3PT Shot Making this season comparable to Schröder, and a defensive impact lower than anyone in LA's rotation.

Can’t take much of what he’s doing with the Rockets this year because they are a dumpster fire, I would compare this addition to how McLemore played last year for the Rockets

ESPN piece on McLemore from January 2020:

ESPN LINK

Sounds like he needed direction and instruction at the get-go, and really thrived whenever he got it. Hope it works out well for him and that he can stick here.

Wes has been a joke all year....let's see what Ben can do....I'm pretty sure Ben wont hit the bottom of the rim on a lay-up. Plus we need offense more than defense at this point.

How does his D compare to Quinn Cook's - who's roster spot he's filling.

Real Gs move in silence. Like lasagna.

Lol. A silly-sauce expression.

It be a nice change of pace to have a shooter find his stroke in purple and gold. The trend has been shooters losing their touch in purple and gold. Danny freaking Green is back to about 41% now.

What is with the "signing of people" on the day there's a game, which makes it so the new signee cannot play in that game -_-

Still have enough salary left to sign someone else. Would just need to cut someone like McKinnie or Dudley to free up a spot if anyone interesting becomes available.

Casuals wouldn't even notice, this is not an issue with most people. It's a conspiracy to annoy the hardcore fans. LOL!
