No Ben Wallace, no Jermaine O'Neal... there are alot of people missing off this list... which may not necessarily be a bad thing...

they do need some big guys but the whole detroit starting lineup thingy is overated. for how good those guys are supposed to be san antonio and dallas arent that far behind. i'm tired of EVERYONE kissing their asses.

Until one of them gets hurt. This list needs more size and less swingmen.

Miller/Howard/Amare
Brand/Bosh/Jamison
James/Pierce/Joe Johsnon
Kobe/Wade/Redd
Billups//Paul/Ridnour

That's a solid backcourt/swing rotation. Frontcourt....slim pickin's. That's all of em! Where's Lamar?

Chauncey
Kobe
Pierce
Brand
???

no true center on that entire roster and the best bigman is 6'8. I want Shaq to be on that team because he's one of the few guys in the league who can score with post moves and operate from there to find slashers.

This isn't the NBA. Guys like TD and Shaq wouldn't be allowed to play rough in FIBA. They post up and get offensive fouls called on them. Which is why I'm a HUGE advocate of Brad Miller as the starting C and have been for some time.

KG and TD have already said publicly that would decline to sign on for team USA and play in the summer olympics in 2008.

so did Wallace. The reason you don't see a lot of names on that is because they said they didn't want to play.

As much as I don't like Iverson, I can't imagine why he wasn't asked to play. I agree that it lacks size, but KG, Timmay, Big Ben are all out. You want Shaq on this team 2+ years from now? No thanks. The starting lineup I wanted was:
AI
Kobe
Lebron
Duncan
Big Ben

Too bad two of them don't want to play and one wasn't even asked.

They should really try and get Ben Wallace on that squad. There is no one else like him in the world.

Wow still surprised that Allen Iverson is not on the list. He deserves a gold medal too. Well for sure they'll chage their minds like last minute kind of media blow up crap. Anyways here's what I think the starting lineup should be nevertheless.

1- Dwayne Wade
2- Kobe Bryant
3- Lebron James
4- Elton Brand/Chris Bosh
5- Amare Stoudimire
I mean sure you could say Brad Miller but he lost his explosiveness. The Wallaces' are not on the list and seem un-interested. Shaq and Yao probably gotta be the two best big men in the world. Shaq seems old and through and Yao is gonna be on the CHinese team. So it seems hard. I would definetly take Allen Iverson and TIm Duncan into heavy consideration. I mean if the U.S commitiee is trying hard to make the team a young and new team they could at least have those twoo come off the bench.

Shaq actually still has a standing invitation to join them. And why not have him? He'll be 36 by 2008, a lot of national teams from other countries have guys approaching 40! When Shaq is 36 I bet he'll be a guy getting around 16points, 8rebounds, 60 something % from the field with about 27minutes of play. He'll probably still be a top 5 center in the NBA. Even if he's overrated hes still belongs in the top 50 somewhere, why not honor the guy if he wants to play?

If Amare doesn't lose anything from his injury he might edge out either
Bosh or Howard - depending on where they want to play him.

Otherwise I agree with your lineup.
