Not as of late with Vogel going back to our large lineup.
With DJ being Javale.
An our guards being Russ and Avery instead of Avery/Danny or KCP/ Danny.
Lebron and Russ are being too unselfish whenever they’re on the court together.
There’s only been a few times when they both went into attack dog mode and we ended up winning.
Need both of these unguardable legends to eat!!!
WestBrick is unguardable? Teams win just by leaving him open to shoot

If you watched the Lakers these past two games instead of
Luka stomping out your Clippers last night you would see Russ has been shooting great. Much more confidence in his mid range. What you’d rather have Luke Kennard?

5 out of 16 from 3 the past 3 games? You beg him to shoot the three pointer. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.
i love Russ, he's our best player by far this season. LeBron hasn't done much between his injuries and mood swings, and AD was a complete disappointment so far. Russ has his shortcomings that's for sure, but the guy plays with his heart out every single night. I just wish AD grows a pair and join him.
If he played his heart out on defense all game, not just the 4th quarter, we wouldn't have to do the massive 4th quarter comeback routine that fails more often than succeeds.
My issue with Westbrook is rarely his heart or effort. The man plays hard!
My issue is how undisciplined he usually plays. I just think he is careless about his assignments. How many times a game is he completely out of position and floating too far from his man. Compare it to a incredibly talented ILB that is always overcommitting and “trying to make a play” and creating huge running or passing lanes that opponents repeatedly use against him.
That’s how I see Westbrook on defense. Just do your job!

i see signs of improvements over the past week,
if everyone on this team plays with as much heart and passion as RW, we'd be undefeated. if AD can play with passion every game, he'd be the top player in this league.

Russ has been fine, but he's the easy whipping boy. In reality, if AD is who everyone says he's is we should win more games than lose.
Russ sets him up, looks for him, and eases the pressure.
In theory, AD gives us an advantage almost every night. If you put 28yr old TD in his place we are dominant. Not that AD is TD but in this era, he should be that dominant.
I don't think Russ is the problem per se, but his contract could be. He's like a 20 million value player making twice that. The team needs better role players around the stars.
The second Russ gets rest to start the 4th quarter our squad takes its foot off the gas.
We also win if THT scores something.
Empty stats triple double?
Without Russ going Russ and AD under the weather last night we lose by 30 easily
Really? Westbrook was on the floor for the first 5:14 of the first quarter. We were down 21-7. When he came back in, it was 28-14. When he went to the bench again in the second quarter, it was 44-27. So at that point, he was a -17. He wound up a net 0 for the game, which means that he was +17 the rest of the way.
The point is that, if you're being reasonable, you can't just pick the parts of the Westbrook performance that you like and disregard the rest. It all exists as a totality. If you are going to credit Westbrook for pulling us out of a hole, you also have to accept that Westbrook was a big part of digging the hole in the first place.
When you have someone post 31/13/10 for the game, and when they wind up a net 0, it is fair to ask whether those stats really capture the value of his performance. It's too early to have sufficient data to generate advanced metrics, but when the data is sufficient, it will be interesting to see what his metrics look like. _________________ Internet Argument Resolved

His contract is really a non issue if you look at it in a grand scheme. With KCP/Kuz/Harrell Lakers still will only have fmle and mle salaries. Harrell only salary that will come off after this season. Which don’t clear any cap space at all. At least Russ whole salary comes off this year or next year.

Come on AH. If someone has those stats and a 0 +/- the logical thing to ask is, what are the other 4 people he played alongside doing?
Be reasonable. Russ had some disappointing games. But recently that hasn’t been the case. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better”
Call me crazy for saying this. But I'm actually starting to enjoy watching RW play. He's a good player, he's actually a very very tough cover when you give him the ball on the wing. We can't give him the ball just in the middle at the top of the arc all the time. We have to focus on him attacking from the wing, and when he does, there's a lot more effectiveness to his game vs when we force him to play point.
Even so, when he keeps his TOs to 3-4 or less, I can argue that he's an asset in those games.
In games with Bron, RW is 6-3. 2 losses coming early to start the season, meaning won 6 of last 7 games with Bron.
Give this time. IMO, Russell has not been an asset yet, but he is not a problem. The trade was the problem, in that so many good role players went out and were replaced with vet min role players that don't fit.
If we can get some consistent role players around RW/Bron/AD. This could be interesting post deadline roster no one wants to play in the playoffs.

Fine Wolf, since you asked...

Very good week and half now for him. If you are expecting him to go make all the shots, you are expecting too much. Sometimes he has to take the wide open 3, it is just part of the game.
