I was looking at the box score and noticed that the Magic only shot 55 times. That must be one of the lowest numbers in history. Does anyone know what's the lowest number of shot attempts for a team in an NBA game? The Magic actually shot a better percentage than the Lakers (52.7% vs 51.3%).
I can think of a few reasons that would explain such a low number of shot attempts by the Magic.
- The Lakers committed a lot of fouls, sending the Magic to the line
- The lakers forced many turnovers
- The Lakers outrebounded the Magic and didn't give them many second shot attempts
But still 55 shot attempts translates to just 1.1 shots per minute. |

IMO this was because of
1- Forced Turnovers
2- Defensive rebounding
3- Suffocating defense that forced them to use up a ton of clock
The type of game the Lakers had yesterday was exactly what Phil probably saw when he took the job.
High forced TO's, Pressure defense that lowered the FGA's and very good rebounding. |
