kobe could play the 1-3 and lebron could play the 1-4. both with elite defense. is there any 2/3 combo in history that would have theoretically complimented each other better?
Hard to think they wouldn't have been the greatest duo ever but I do firmly believe Shaq and Kobe were the greatest so I'll say the 2nd best duo of all time.

I think Lebron would acquiesce. Especially if he came on board as a rookie. Plus is game despite his scoring proficiency still leans towards being a passer. I think you might as well shut down the league if those two were together. _________________ KOBE
Jordan and Pippen complemented each other well.
They even sometimes complimented each other.
Tmac and Grant Hill could have been something if not for injuries. _________________ 💜💛 🏆 👀 🍖 #18!!!

I think Lebron would have to let Kobe do his thing in the fourth. But I think the big problem would be that Lebron and Kobe both need the ball in their hands. And Lebron would be in the same position that Kobe was with Shaq. I'm not sure you can have a young potential GOAT who would be content with playing a second fiddle for very long.
You have one player who could do proven pippen/jordan jobs well.
Then you add another bulldog who is better than Pippen.
Then you asked how good they would have been. _________________ Kobe's Top 5 Dunks, 81 points, MJ last gm @Staples

Good points but I just think these guys are too good, with too much basketball IQ and GOAT level competitive drive that they'd find a way to make it work.
I remember seeing on Instagram and someone posted an image of Kobe/LBJ in Lakers unis as teammates and Lebron replied "Wouldn't even be fair". It echoed my sentiments. _________________ KOBE

THey would have found a way to win. I think the biggest reason why Kobe's body finally fell apart (besides him not getting enough rest/recovery) was that he had to bear so much of the playmaking responsibilities + creating his own shot. Would have been great to have an elite playmaker/point guard to ease the burden on him.
Instead Kobe had to play with guys like Fisher and other PGs with zero playmaking ability.

Assuming they can put egos aside, and completely mesh? They'd be the greatest duo of all time. You talking about Kobe who is just slightly below MJ, however Lebron is way above Pippen. Somewhere in the multi-verse, Kobe and Bron racking up chips.

I don't recall that being possible when T-Mac was in his prime. But I do recall rumors of JW moving Nick or Eddie on draft night. T-Mac's prime would not have happened being on a stacked team with Shaq and Kobe. T-Mac wasn't even T-Mac next to Vince Carter. He blew up the moment he left Vince.

No. It was right before the draft for T-Mac. Jerry scouted him and he had an insane workout. The deal would have basically been trading Eddie Jones for him in the draft. But ownership didn’t agree with developing another out of high school prospect on a team with Shaq.
Man….and T-Mac was basically projected as a better scoring Pippen. He would have fit in perfectly. A ball handling forward that can also score from anywhere, and didn’t need to demand the ball. He would have been an incredible fit. 2003 being his best scoring year means we kick the Spurs ass and go on a 4 peat.
Fisher
Bryant
McGrady
Horry
Shaq
Personality wise, it would have been a great fit too. McGrady probably would have been able to keep it together with Kobe and Shaq, while Kobe would push him harder to be great.
