Question: How do you all pronounce Turiaf's name?

I know it's supposed to be pronouced "Roany" ...something like that...

but i find myself calling him Ronny, rhyming with Tommy

Am I the only one out there who does this?

It's a long "O."

The 'r's are done in the throat, not unlike a German or Hebrew 'ch' sound. That in mind, long 'o' and 'e' in "Roe-nee", long 'u', long 'e' sound for the 'i', short 'a' (as in "hot", not "hat") in "Too-ree-af".

Yeah, its the French prononciation. It's like another French name that gets Americans in trouble. "Jean" You and I know that is pronounced [jeen] right? No! For our spelling and pronouncing mechanics that is [john] (said with the lips pushed out and very little air) The French, who already get mad as soon as Americans get off the plane in Paris use this American prononciation issue to fuel there legendary rudeness toward the Red, White, and Blue! Don't call the man Ronnie ya'll....
