I know it's supposed to be pronouced "Roany" ...something like that...
but i find myself calling him Ronny, rhyming with Tommy
Am I the only one out there who does this? _________________ Lakers in '08.

His first name is pronounced "Ro-nee"
It's a long "O."
Like "Row a boat."

The 'r's are done in the throat, not unlike a German or Hebrew 'ch' sound. That in mind, long 'o' and 'e' in "Roe-nee", long 'u', long 'e' sound for the 'i', short 'a' (as in "hot", not "hat") in "Too-ree-af". _________________ Nerd rock in progress.

Watching him on the bench, I think its pronounced "M. L. Carr" _________________ “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.” ― Elie Wiesel |

Yeah, its the French prononciation. It's like another French name that gets Americans in trouble. "Jean" You and I know that is pronounced [jeen] right? No! For our spelling and pronouncing mechanics that is [john] (said with the lips pushed out and very little air) The French, who already get mad as soon as Americans get off the plane in Paris use this American prononciation issue to fuel there legendary rudeness toward the Red, White, and Blue! Don't call the man Ronnie ya'll.... _________________ "According to ESPN.com's conference projections, the Lakers will finish 12th in the West, which prompted Bryant to tweet earlier this offseason, "12th I see.." |
