In the sports betting world the Lakers are notorious for not covering spreads. They are a popular team that the public loves to pick and the books take advantage of that by giving them warped lines. Even when the lines are fair it's still a tough cover for them on any given night. Add LeBron to that equation, a player who is notoriously bad at covering throughout his career and almost considered a point shaver. This year so far however has been ridiculously bad even by both Laker and LeBron standards. In 15 games going back to the preseason, the Lakers have covered the spread only twice for a 13% win rate. Betting against them has probably been the most profitable play in sports. With that said, here comes a thread to make your predictions on whether or not the Lakers will cover the spread throughout the season.
Preseason:
-3.5 v BKN NO
+3.5 @ PHX NO
+3.5 @ GSW NO
+2.5 v PHX NO
-7.5 v GSW NO
-2.5 @ SAC NO
Regular season:
-3.5 v GSW NO
-2.5 v PHX NO
-5 v MEM NO
+2.5 @ SAS YES
-5.5 @ OKC NO
-8.5 v CLE YES
-11 v HOU NO
-10.5 v HOU NO
-10.5 v OKC NO
+5.5 @ POR NO
Next game:
-2.5 v CHA ??? _________________ It was reminiscent of one of those Most Interesting Man in the World advertisements: "I don't always shoot 6-for-28 from the field, but when I do, I become the youngest player in league history to score 28,000 career points."

I like the Lakers for the points and the money tonight. _________________ It was reminiscent of one of those Most Interesting Man in the World advertisements: "I don't always shoot 6-for-28 from the field, but when I do, I become the youngest player in league history to score 28,000 career points." |

The Lakers are completely capable of beating the Blazers without Bron but it's still the feeling out period which many are already declaring the season over which is just purely a loser mentality imo.. We have plenty to work on obviously and have had some horrible stretches but it's not like Portland doesn't have plenty of there own issues. I say the Lakers cover that spread but it's far from a guarantee. |

That makes 2/16 for a win rate of 12%. _________________ It was reminiscent of one of those Most Interesting Man in the World advertisements: "I don't always shoot 6-for-28 from the field, but when I do, I become the youngest player in league history to score 28,000 career points." |

Lakers are favored by 2.5 against Charlotte tonight. The way they've looked this season they really shouldn't be favored against anyone but the public is on the Lakers anyway. I wouldn't put money on them right now. _________________ It was reminiscent of one of those Most Interesting Man in the World advertisements: "I don't always shoot 6-for-28 from the field, but when I do, I become the youngest player in league history to score 28,000 career points." |

I see Miami -4.0 on ESPN. Let’s see if they cover tonight. |
