To me hard work is a talent, and the GOAT of hard work is Kobe. AD is a star, but he seems more a switch guy, some games with killer instinct, others dozing off....

To answer the OP, doesn't look like it anymore. Based on the eye test he actually looks more like a Russ or Carmelo, an older star whose past his prime and can't carry a team anymore. This team, like most of LBJ's teams, need LBJ to be the engine or they're pretty mediocre.

Lot of misplaced focus on AD.

not really. he's the most talented, was given the keys to the franchise. Young. Outstanding bigs should be able to carry you to victories. It seems like he gets his but doesn't leave his imprint on the game.

i think Dwight took AD out mentally with that publicized scuffle. Dwight probably regretted too cuz at the time he didn't know AD is such a p****y and destroyed his confidence.

Joker steps up to MVP. Thought AD was next big in line. Needs to focus on hoopin.

No, he is not.... He gets pushed around too easily, is not consistent enough on a game to game basis, and he is injury prone. He obviously has a ton of talent, but not a "foundational star" on a championship team. I would trade him after next season when LBJ and Westbrook come off the books and just start a fresh rebuild. He has actually digressed since coming to LA.

If you play AD at center, you need to put an active PF next to him. Carmelo is too old to be that guy he is better as backup PF. LBJ is that guy, but has largely been out. Seriously flawed roster makeup right now.

He is not. He doesn't have toughness like Giannis.

Maybe we should stop comparing AD to guys like Giannis, Jokic and Embiid?

We'll feel better comparing him to Tatum, Porzingis, PG13

Not his fault. Look at how the rest of the team “helps” on the boards and switches. Or how they swarm him on defense and they just stand around.

He needs Austin Reaves back because he was the only other one wanting to play defense.

AD will only be as good as his guardplay allows him to be. He isn't going to rebound it and take it coast to coast.

He is awesome defensively, but if he isn't with other defensive players then it limits what he can do as him helping is going to just mean he gets burned.

Seriously. Everyone else just is ineffective.
