Sorry, random thought there.
I was just using the ESPN lottery machine and imagining some of the top prospects finding there way to the Lakers. even though i know it isn't possible.
As much as I'd support any Laker, I don't think I'd wear that one. _________________ BORN REBLE |

! Omg I busted out laughing with this one!
Here's another question, how would he get cheered? Imagine the "lukeeeee" cheer but insert "Gayyyyy!" ! _________________ Who Rules? O'Doyle Rules! |

Wow. That's a great question.
I don't think so and I seriously doubt his jersey will be one of the better selling-jerseys, even if he were to be better than Michael Jordan. |

i was thinking that myself. I'm not even going to try to be politically correct here. Everyone knows how much marketing is a part of today's game. a player becomes a brand that agents try to market. he could fight the obvious and defiantly picture fans across america wearing gay jerseys , but I wouldn't be surprised to see the invention of a nickname as a marketing strategy sooner rather than later.
Just for fun I put his name into a King's jersey on Reebok's site, but forgot you can't post pics here. _________________ BORN REBLE |

Wow, drew4lakers you beat me to the kings comment, but my Kings jokes aren't well recieved. Hadn't thought of the jersey thing though. I wonder if he will do what Marvin did and add the "e" to the end of his name. I seriously doubt it though. |

I would if he was a good enough player to deserve the fandom. _________________ Why do people think they're "entitled" to information. This is a message board not a ouija board..... |

It ain't the name at the back that matters. If Rudy Gay was part of the Lakers, only the difficulty buying his jersey here in Europe could prevent me from wearing one.
If anyone would come and make any kind of negative comments, I would kick the guy's ass. I would do it in name of the Lakers, Rudy and myself. _________________ I want to say something about Dwayne Wade, but I fear I may get called for a foul.

He should request to put his first name along with his last name on his jersey. Or simply change his last name to Focker - that sounds much better. |

I like the last name Cockburn. You could tell everyone your game was tight. |

fine then, i have nothing against other orientations, but im not comfortable enough to go around with a jersey that says gay, but if anyone is man enough too do it, go for it, i wouldnt judge but im not like the average dumbass joe who would find the need to pick at someone for something like that. |

I'm agree with you 100% lakers 0505.
If he does turn out to be a great player, would you wear his jersey?
Yeah, I'm having a little fun with it too -- which can be taken as homophobic. And some of my comments were. But there really is a legitimate question here.
A lot of people might say, sure I'd wear his jersey if he was a Laker. And maybe, sitting in Staples with a ton of fans you might. or maybe you'd cruise the streets of West Hollywood on your own. or whatever. Thats the reason for the question.
Its one thing to say here that you would. But really, would you? Or are some people just trying to make themselves sound enlightened -- and avoid the question.
My honest reaction is no i would not wear. I can't defend that really. But the point is its my honest reaction. _________________ BORN REBLE |
