Thanks for laying out the path to keep Monk.

Hopefully we trade Westbrook for a contract like Ben Simmons to keep us a little further from the hard cap.

Thanks Eric for the insight.

Based on your info, I'm hoping that the Lakers

Use the tax payer mid level exception (so the hard cap doesn't kick in) and on a handshake deal, the Lakers take care of him later (although I'm not sure how much the Lakers like him)

Of course if Perlinka can pull a rabbit out his hat, having Westbrook traded would be ideal.

I think it's a reasonably high chance that the Lakers can keep Monk

but the team needs to improve - and if the TMLE is used to keep the status quo - that's not really progressing.

The answer probably has to come via trade - but then RW doesn't have much of any market right now.
