Isn't Smush the same guy that couldn't even make a roster spot on other teams. |

I can't wait for the "..talk to Kobe, he's the GM" line. | Seriously, what is it with no name point guards who suddenly land a starting job with the Lakers thinking they're suddenly All stars??? |

Smush was at All Star weekend with kobe, and they seem to have good chemistry on steals and fast breaks, and kobe has stated that he loves playing with him. I don't think anyone has a problem with Lamar. He seems to be like everyone's big brother on the team. The only people I see LO yelling at during the game are Kwame, and sometimes Mihm...I think it's smush and kwame. Every time kwame screws up, Smush has a fit...did you see smush hitting kwame in the face with the ball on that pass??? I about died laughing and thought "Are you awake now, Kwame?" That was hilarious! |

I think you guys are jumping to conclusions. You're taking a quote, probably out of context, and applying fears and paranoia to it. It's certainly not unlike an NBA player to use incorrect terms or bad grammar when answering questions. By team chemistry he could have easily meant "we haven't learned the system well enough to mesh perfectly yet." A message expressed by Kobe and Phil constantly. They just came off another frustrating loss in a bad stretch of the season. They're tired, frustrated and probably without the care or desire to measure every word they choose to speak. |

I agree. Smush is just a temporary fill. No reason to get upset over anything he says or does. He'll be clanking dunks in Barcelona next year. |

At best, to blame "spacing" on his game losing flub is ridiculous at best. But again, who cares what this guy says. He'll be a bad memory next year. |

I don't know what Smush was referring to, but I'll say this much... he DOES have an attitude problem... and we knew that when we brought him in. There is a reason that he went undrafted. There is a reason that Cleveland let him go after he played reasonably well there. The reason is his attitude, it's been chronicled. Smush has played better than expected this season and people have forgotten about this, but he's had several quotes that make you go "huh?" |

I suppose it was bad chemistry that made Smush not shorten his dribble and get stripped. |

Agreed. Actually, I bet its the other way around. Smush calling out people because Kobe can't publically. |

Why do you guys love to hate players?
Smush is right. He wasn't talking about Kobe or any one player in particular. Just the spacing and team togetherness in general.
Neither is consistent. |

IMO the team has indeed bad chemistry. It shows especially at the defensive end. The problem with Smush's words is that he is part of the problem. |

IMO, Smush's problem is that he's a role player trying too hard to step into the leadership vacuum created by the player who announced that he wanted to be a leader but has assumed the position of a role-player.

I started a thread on this the other day.

I think that Kobe can, and should, call people out.
He just has to be smart about it, which I think he can. |

Im sick of Smush, either shut up and play or try and find a job else where. I got a feeling he wont be able to find anything. |

True, but I'll take that attitude over being too passive.
Hand-in-hand with thinking he's got some big britches comes a willingness
to shoot the ball, despite playing right next to number 8.
Smush had a handful of good examples last night where other players
(especially on our squad) would have been timid or hesitant.
The man's still quite a bargain. |

I hate losing. This team is a collection of losers. And Smush' comment was spoken in direct context with the flubbed game loser. |

Though I'm sure that he's not asked to do much, I believe that it's in Smush's nature to try to step up and try to do things he might not be prepared to do.
Rather than just trying to stay in front of his man, Smush is constantly looking for the big steal to make something happen. He gets out of position and the rest is history. |

When we get to the point when we get chemistry.. you'll be watching the game in the 1st quarter. |

exactly, and even when we win Smush always finds a way to take a jab at the team. When Kobe scored 81, smush said "I was hot too, I wanted to show what I could do." Fool, you had 2 1/2 quarters to do so. Night before last he talked about how everyone was happy because they got their touches and shots, he actually smiled. Last night he was talking about chemistry. FOOL, the loss is on you. You should step up like a man and just say "I f-ed up." |
