Jeanie Buss will be on with me from 4:20 to 5:20 PDT Thursday from Morongo Casino. Kurt Rambis will call in at 5PM for the final segment and we'll be taking calls the entire time. All Lakers fans should feel free to call in: 800 770-1540. Speak your mind!

You have to understand that for one hour a week it's not the Dave Smith Show, it's the Basketball Roundtable, starring Jeanie Buss and Kurt Rambis. It's their show and I'm there strictly to moderate. That's where you fans come in, because the calls are uncensored.

When they come on my show it's a much different interview; as they both will tell you!

Isn't there a way you can send early word to her people to have her come on w/ an official word on Kwame and that 3rd year? The first time she "didn't think" it would be guaranteed...the last time she just didn't know...we'd like to finally put this to bed.

Hey Dave you need to find out once and for all if Kwame's third year is guaranteed.

Thanks.

Ask Kurt Rambis what the team discusses during halftime and why he feels the team is so lethargic to start the 3rd Quarter.

Also will Brian Cook be disciplined for his outburst with PJax on the sideline?

For those of us not local...could someone record it and post a link? I would appreciate it.

Guys, we really don't need to know about Kwame. We'll find out this offseason. If the Lakers are signing people to one year deals, it probably is good news. If Mitch starts handing out 2 year deals, then we know we have a problem.

Hey Dave I listen to your show practically every day on the way home. Kurt and Jeanne just put a spin on everything it just makes me laugh how they cover things up. Oh Dave my dad is committed to winning championships and Laker fans have to be patient blah blah blah...

How about asking?
Why should I pay outrageous ticket prices two years in a row to see a .500 team that cannot make the playoffs?
What about making incremental changes to help Kobe at least make the playoffs?
You promissed us a playoff team last year, but so far this team looks worse.
Where are the major changes you promissed us during the summer?
Who is really running the team, Mitch, Jerry, Phil or Jim?
What are the real chances that Mitch will grab a major star in 07, 08 when Mitch couldn't even get a good deal for Shaq?

Hey Dave let them answer the tough questions and stop the spin game. This team is an embarrassment to all Laker fans.

Why should I renew my season tickets, what's the plan?

Ask them about Aaron Mckie and where the hell has he been. And when they expect him to return.

Ask why they havent found a replacement for Laron Profit yet? I thought Profit did a good job backing Kobe up and giving him well rested minutes early in the season. Its a damn shame they havent found a replacement for him even till today.

Ask them why management has been so cautious to do trades or sign players yet take on huge risks like Kwame Brown?

Most importantly, ask Jeanie Buss how does her daddy feel about not upholding his gurantee of making the playoffs this season. Remember he guranteed Lakers will make the playoffs this season. He gave us his word yet didnt do much to uphold it.

This weekly feature on 1540 of Kurt and Jeanie is one of the reasons why that station is a joke and a far cry from its competition of ESPN 710 and 570AM. When you have a loser like Petros hoggin a couple hours each afternoon it is time to possibly consider changing formats. Even Roggin is mostly garbage and I enjoy his television work. Maybe an AM Bluegrass station is what this town needs because lord knows The Ticket 1540 "fiddles" enough (bleep) to fill the air waves as it is.

Try and get a definitive answer on Kwame's contract.

Its the question of the hour with Laker fans right now.

How about asking:

At 29-29, is it safe to say that Kobe is the best player on the worst team right now in the NBA?

What teams have shown interest in Lamar Odom and Kwame Brown in forseeable trade scenarios?

Was it very realistic for ownership to guaruntee a playoff berth without a proven NBA point guard?

How is Phil and Kobe dealing with losses due to the lack of talent on the current roster?

Do you really think the Lakers will win enough games this year to guaruntee that season ticket holders will renew their subscription?

Do you think that the Lakers will be viewed as the New York Knicks next season?

So in other words, everyone everywhere and on every show sucks. Yeah, thanks. You should just turn off your radio or avoid AM altogether.

I never implied or meant to say that EVERY AM sports radio station in LA sucks just 1540 does, Dave is very good but the rest of that lineup is atrocious imo.
