The Lakers should have had Jim Jackson in Los Anglees and sent out a press release about 15 minutes after the Suns released him. He would be the third guard and Sissy Vujacic would never be seen again. A win-win situation.

You are right, but you are forgetting one tiny detail: The utter inability of Mitch Kupchak to bring in an uninjured, solid veteran.

if this season mike d'antoni always held jimmy jackson on the bench, it's because he hasn't legs anymore... and jackson never had any d even when he was a player...

Jim Jackson at the minimum is still pretty expensive. Think of all the Texas Hold'em hands you can play with that money.

that is such an old argument! the dudes been a solid citizen since his days in sac town. he would again be re-juvinated cause all he'd have to do is beat out garbage like sasha. he'd be first off the bench if not starting over smush. truth is, it aint gonna happen. lakers are standing down regarding improving this year. plus he needed to be signed already to make it on the playoff roster. I believe.

Last nights game proved one thing, our PG's can't shoot and don't defend foot-speed well at all. Besides that, what is wrong with Parker? This guy is up and down more than an ANF. We need help from someone the problem is that someone wasn't released.

you are assuming that players want to come here right now. Apparently we offered Tony Delk more but he went with a better team, but JJ would be a wonderful sight to see. Imaging a guy who knocks down wide open shots.

True, why would he want to sign with the Lakers when he could sign with a real contender. He has spurned the Lakers in the past, what makes anyone think he has a change of heart now.

I think JJ is the best option for this team. Although he won't help with the small quick guards, he will be able to give Kobe a breather and guard the bigger stronger guards while Kobe goes after the runts.

First off, Jim Jackson was a good defender. Not sure what kind of player he is now.

Second, when you see a guy who has Jackson's talent, and yet is on so many different teams, only one conclusion is possible. He must be an A-hole. That said, by all accounts Lamar Odom is a terribly nice guy. Maybe we need some a-holes.

Anfernee Hardaway, Howard Eisley, Rick Brunson, Fred Hoiberg, Jim Jackson and Wesley Person are all major improvements for the Lakers. I like Hardaway best if he can still play. I also like Eisley after Smush's debacle.....

Still wouldn't take Penny just because he has an attitue. There was a post earlier saying he would play point guard. He hasnt played that position since Shaq left Orlando. Maybe as a spot up but that's still suspect. Defense forget it, if we got him instead of putting a number on his jersey we should put an X so other teams kind find the mismatch a lot faster. He's slow on on defense.

Didn't Penny say just two weeks ago that he probably wasn't going to play this season?

Go ask Knicks fans how they like Eisley. They feel about Eisley the same way that I feel about Fisher. The guy is no good.
