If no one caught the game on t.v. last night and heard it on the radio 570 AM the blazers announcers were the lakers guest at halftime and were talking about Kobe being the best player in the NBA. herest what they said.
"Why do people and media keep asking themselves if kobe is the best because they dont believe he makes his teamates better", "that statement is overated how can kobe make his teamates better when they dont make shots", "Kobe can pass the ball 100 times and still score 30 points any night but will his teamates score off his passes?"Kobe is the best player in the NBA withoput a doubt"

yeah man. We have a bunch of scrubs on our team. Fools can't make shots.

We need a overhaul: The following players are the only safe ones if I was the GM.

Sasha
Mihm
Turiaf
Cook

I heard that also, it was Steve Jones former NBA on NBC analyst. He is only reaffirming what everyone here on LG already knew. Much love Snapper.

Kobe is the only safe player. The rest can be had at a garage sale.

Sasha? I would actually pay someone to take him off our hands (exaggeration).

STEVE SNAPPER SAID THAT.

I AM SHOCKED.

THAT IS GOOD TO HEAR. PEOPLE AND THE MEDIA ARE BEGINNING TO REALIZE WHAT I SAID LONG TIME AGO.

Kupchak is to blame for this team's failure. He has surrounded Kobe with junk.

Replace Jordan with Kobe and I think that the team would perform the same.

Mihm, Cook, Bynum and Turiaf and Kobe should stay, everyone else flat out SUCKS....

We will have 5 players for an 8 man rotation. Just pick up a legit starting PG and SF who can hustle and make the open jumper and a back up guard who can play both guard positions and we'll be the 50 win team we thought we would be this season.

As of now: Smush and LO don't hustle and their shost are inconsistent.
Sasha is not ready to play yet.

Agreed. That's why, for me, this season is even more painful than last.

When you all say that certain players are safe, I am thinking two things:

1 - untouchable, not moved for anyone. Only Kobe and perhaps Bynum fall under this category.

2 - Moveable for the right price. Nearly everyone else.

There is a third category, but I am not certain it fits for any current Laker:

3 - Need to move (get rid of right away). I would definitely have put Slava on that list, but the Lakers are still holding on to him, so what do I know?

Oh, and perhaps a 4th group:

4 - We are keeping because they fit in our plans, but they could be moved if the right package came along. But I feel this is too similar to group #2, and under here I would list Mihm, Turiaf, and perhaps Sasha.

Well I think you can move them for the right trade, but I would hesitate to trade them. First, I think Sasha is going to develop into a very good player. And Cook's value is going to rise with more exposure. I think his trade value will peak next season, not this season, so it would be unwise to trade him now. Also, he is a big man that can shoot and is fairly mobile. not many of those around.
