Another Addition?

The Lakers contacted the representatives of swingman Jim Jackson, who was waived by the Phoenix Suns.

The Lakers would like to add another backcourt player and have talked about Penny Hardaway as well.

Jackson said a new player wouldn't have a hard time learning the triangle offense because "it's not rocket science."

OK...so where's Artest, Baron Davis, and some other guys?

BARON/SMUSH/SASHA
KOBE/WAFER
ARTEST/WALTON
COOK/TURIAF/KWAME
MIHM/BYNUM

Main excuse for not trading at the deadline is always "the triangle is hard to learn"

Why does no team ever wanna keep Jim Jackson around? Is he bad for team chemistry?

And the main cop-out for the assumption we could have gotten guys like
Braon and Artest is that you, as an outsider, KNEW that we didn't have to
offer too much.

For all you know they wanted way more than we should have offere in
both deals.

I can't speak for the Baron thing, but I will say that for Artest, they
apparently wanted Bynum and LO both, which I'm glad we didn't offer up.

But shucks, anytime ANY player is on the market we should give up the
entire roster for them even if we were outbid.

Because he's just good enough to be a good role player on an average team, but bad enough to not be a long term answer.

He's shooting 29.5% from the field this season. The legs may have gone out from his jumper at 35.

well he really hasnt played much at all this season.

I dont see how JJ solves any of our problems. We really need a veteran guard. JJ would be good for next year to replace George if he decides to leave.

We have George........In my book george gets the starters spot at the 1 on "D".......with lamar playing the point on "O"......

We go into a match up zone......

But...........Does jackson have anything of use to us more so than george at this time?

Can Jackson have even a remote shot at slowing the Nash's,Parker's,Bibby's of this league.....Now if he can actually do a job on 1's in this league, other than just 2's and 3's....sign him up.....

Or is a replacement for Kobe's 5 to 8 minutes a game.....we already have George for that......

JJ would have been great 3-4 years ago. His game has gone south. Frankly, at this point, getting JJ will be strictly a PR move to give the fans the appearance of the FO actually going forth and doing something. It's a little too late for that. They foolishly let those ending contracts rot, and die on the vine.

It really is inexcusable. Has the FO even gotten an entire game's worth of minutes combined from its last two MLE signings?

As I've said many times before: at a certain point, bad luck becomes a function of incompetence.

I wondered y everyone was so excited about this, but i let it be. But seriously enough is enough like uberzev and golden said, he isnt the same jim jackson off a year ago or what he was when he got a two year deal from the rockets 2 years ago, he is simply old now...but despite that take alook at our roster ..so well come aboard jimmy,he can keep mckie company if worst comes to worst.
