Karl Malone was just on Espn Radio 710 AM with Linda Cohn (She is filling in 4 Dan Patrick) and this is the recap of the interview.

. Kobe is the best player right now in the NBA and maybe one of the best of all time if not now will get there.
. Lamar Odom has to step up and help and do more than he does to help out Kobe.
. Hasn't talked 2 Kobe this year or after what happend last year at all, but still thinks he was and is true professional.
. As long as Kobe is on this Lakers team they compete night in and out just because Kobe won't ever give up.
. The Lakers are a first class organization and loved being there for 2 season including his injury year and when he sat out, and loved playing for the Lakers.
. Thinks that the blame should be on the Lakers players and not on the coaches or Kobe or anyone else, they just need to help Kobe.
. Thinks Kobe is the MVP of the league.
. Loved the time he had with the Lakers even though it was short and would've done it again knowing what happend.
. Blamed the Knicks players and not so much Isiah Thomas with the situation with NY.

That was it. Give me props.

Mailman is a classy professional.

It is unfortunate what happened to him and Kobe.

I liked what he said about the knicks being the fault of the players and not isiah's fault for all the awful trades.

...he must still feel guilty about splitting his head open with that elbow.

We've hired Kareem to teach Bynum and Mihm and Pippen to teach Odom...how about hiring Kahl Malohw to teach Brown and Turiaf?

Man, that's nice to hear from Karl.

I sure wouldn't mind bringing him in specifically to coach (i.e. TOUGHEN UP) Kwame!!

Takes a big man to let what happened last year go. Dont know what really happened but nice to see that both are most likely over it. I loved Karl as a Laker.

That's a reasonable statemente since he's retired.

One thing about Karl was that he was always a classy guy.

The Laker fans loved this dude despite hating him for so many years. Too bad things ended up the way they did. Would have loved to have seen him go through the season and retire properly.

I, second that. Karl would've made a huge difference against the Pistons. Instead, the Lakers had to play Slava and Walton at PF.
