Since orlando is freeing up money in 2007, and im assuming lakers will have money in 2007, as an NBA player who would u rather play for? orlando is a nice place and they dont charge taxes, that might sound stupid but players are always looking to gain more money.

I doubt the Lakers have cap room in 2007. It looks like they exercised Kwame's team option.

If I wanna win, I'll play with a winner like Kobe.

Depends what you're looking for as a player and where you are in your career.

Orlando has some great pieces to build around and there is the no tax thing. On the other hand, it is a really family oriented, boring city to live in, especially compared to LA plus the franchise has no tradition at all, unlike the Lakers. If I'm a big man, it's a better fit to go to LA to complement Kobe, but if I'm a perimeter guy, it might be better to go to Orlando since they already have Milicic and Howard.

I heard Orlando was going to use their cap space to sign a free agent ankle to replace Grant Hill.

There is no Kobe in Orlando. L.A. has the coach, Phil Jackson. L.A. has the huge stage for a superstar.

Orlando has no state tax, Jameer Nelson running the show, and Dwight Howard down low.

Sounds better than what we have to offer.

The Lakers are more appealing to a superstar, because the media market means better shoe contracts. If the superstar is interested in getting into films, it's also an attraction.

LeBron is a hometown hero. I doubt he would move to Orlando for tax purposes. He may maintain a vacation home in Florida for tax purposes.

Well he will be a hero anywhere. Lebron would go to Orlando because Howard is gonna be one of the best players in the NBA not because of taxes. If I was a FA like Lebron or another big name Orlando would sound great.

Kobe is the best player in the NBA. Phil is the top winner of Championships. If he wants to win. L.A. is the place.

We're mostly looking for a PF/C while the Magic need a swingman. I don't think they'll be competing with us much.

I hope the center who emerges is Andrew Bynum. In that case, it may be a SF that would be great to have.

Orlando has a nice young core: Darko, Dwight, Jameer, Turk. If they sign a SG (like Wade) they could be in danger.

They could actually sign Wade cuz Shaq plans on owning the Magic, so...

It would be ironic if Shaq did buy the Magic. He broke their hearts at one time. Some fans were literally crying when he left.

The Lakers are still the premier franchise in the league. If the contracts that are offered are equal, the Lakers will win out because of their prestige and tradition.

Agree w/ Uberzev, they'll be looking for a perimeter player and we will be looking for a post player.
