Without his defense on Rasheed and boards the Lakers do not match Detroit's frontline.
Well by that I mean they get dominated.
The best lineup was that 4th qtr one with Kwame/Odom/George/Bryant/Parker. I have wanted that line to start earlier in the season.
Anyway, we are all really hard on Kwame. Time to give the guy his well deserved props - even though it's one game. It's the type of game that shows why his size and athleticism alone is worth the gamble. |

Oh yeah, no doubt.
I criticize a lot of players perhaps too much, but I've never really been a Kwame critic.
I still think trading Caron for this guy was a good move. |

Detriot seems to have problems with other physical players, he did play great tonight. But it's got to be more than one game here and there. |

Agreed. His interior defense was terrific. Still has that little problem with the hands, but he did a great job denying position and grabbing boards (and pushing the Detroit big men out of position so that others could grab boards as well)...
He did a lot of the things that "don't show up on a stat sheet."
Props tonight to Kwame. Like Lamar, let's hope he can build on it... |

Rasheed was raping Cook. Some of it was him getting cold, but a lot of it was Kwame not allowing him to more than shoot jumpers.
And the rebounding.
Kwame just needs to bring that sort of Dennis Rodman type of game every night.
Maybe Turiaf is rubbing off on the guy? |

Turiaf's positive energy is definitely rubbing off on Kwame. I also think PJax pinpointing Kwame's game day anxiety and helping him work through that is starting to make a difference as well.
Kwame has been good against the premiere PFs in the league. He just needs to play with the same intensity against some of the mediocre ones. |

Like said earlier, Cooks D is gawd awful! Kwame did an unbeliabel job. I don't care if he can't grab a damn ball and do nothing on offense, but if he keeps his strong post D, playing the p and roll, and grab those damn rebs, he'll be a poormans B. Wallace!!!!

Maybe teach Kwame to only worry about points on alley oops and tip shots, offensive rebounds, etc, and not call plays for him specifically. Let him worry about other things besides scoring.
That line up was killer tonight. Maybe that should be the new starting line up. Cook's offense is good for off the bench points when Kobe sits. And DG is playing with a new found energy. I don't know if it is him playing with no injuries for a change, or that he is in another contract year. _________________ Courage doesn't always roar.

How the hell did we let Randolph go wild against us the other night?? Was that Kwame's or Lamar's fault?? More evidence that Kwame was aquired to play up against the preimere players and teams but that means we have to make the playoffs first for Kwame to get the best competition!! A catch 22 if their ever was one! 8) |

Kwamaki's hands of stone cost us 8 points easy, but holding Ben Wallace to 5 boards makes up for it. He was useful tonight. We'll see about tommorrow. |

Good call Wolfy! Without Kwame's "Ranger like" enforcement in the paint it is a differant ball game...
Take a bow Kwame!

He played great tonight not even the stat line speaks of what he really did. I noticed him running back on D as well. Hopefully watching Ronny a couple of games ago really must have sparked him, and with a game like this hopefully it'll give him some confidence he needs to go out there. |

One thing for sure Money though is that San Antonio is much more tender in the paint than Detroit. If Kwame applies himself like he did tonight he may as well be Shaq as far as the Spurs are concerned...With Kwame it is just confidence, confidence, confidence... He can do this Jax just has to keep hammering at him and, convincing him that he can do these things.
Did you see when LO hit him damned near in the face with that pass. I have a feeling that was on purpose as LO was hoping that in an attempt to protect himself he would catch the ball Bingo! he delivered 2! _________________ "According to ESPN.com's conference projections, the Lakers will finish 12th in the West, which prompted Bryant to tweet earlier this offseason, "12th I see.."

Kwame was a beast on the boards. If he plays like that and just hustles, he'll start winning the fans and be a great comeback story. IT STARTS NOW KWAME!!!! |

kwame needs to concentrate on his D and his rebounding...when he consistently averages 8-10 boards and is a presence in the lane defensively, and the fans start giving him love, the rest of his game will follow. |

Well Shoes, let's just hope Kwamaki can string together a whole two games worth of consistency. In WA he had a 12 game streak each season where he played up to his potential. Since the season's almost up, it'd be nice if Charlie.... er.. umm Kwamaki Brown starts said streak. |

He doubled the rebounding of Ben Wallace. That makes me happy. I like Kwame |

Did you see Rasheed go one on one against Kwame in the post expecting a double team?
No dice Beeahtch!
No double, no team defensive collapse and no points for Rasheed.
Not only that But Kwame created space for Kobe to get to the rim at least twice and bounced Pistons around for other Lakers to get rebounds on top of his twelve.
But hey, He can't score 16 PPG shooting 18 foot Jumpers so he must suck. |

Look...Kwame is NOT going to go 20/10, maybe ever. BUT what he brings to this team is so undervalued. When he's going about things the right way, Kwame is a big-ass dude that goes up strong for rebounds and is terrific in man defense. Anything he gives on the offensive end is simply a bonus to that. |

It was good to have Kwame's defense. He's a great matchup for Rasheed. _________________ "Darkness cannot drive out darkness. Only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate. Only love can do that." ~~Martin Luther King Jr.~~ |

in an ideal situation, we would play 4 on 5 offense and let kwame play D and rebound. Because the offensive game is simply not their for kwame, but on D has been were he has shown his flash, ill be it brief at that but weve seen more on the D than on his O which is pretty much horendous. |

Kwame deserves his props tonight, but how about the entire Laker front court:
Mihm - 12/6
Cook - 10/2
Lamar - 24/5/10
Kwame - 3/12
All of them shot 50% or better against arguably the best defensive front court in the league. |
