I posted a thread about the possibility of lakers winning the game with detroit....what did i get in reply was a bunch of worthless posts saying that i am crazy...WHAT NOW!?? I AM PRETTY SURE MOST OF THE "LAKER FANS WHO ARE HATERS " OUT THERE ARE JOINING THE BAND WAGGON. And probably all of you when the Lakers beat the spurs on Monday.....OH YES GO LAKERS!

The game tonight proves what Phil has been preaching. When Kwame plays like Rodman and Odom like Pippen, the Lakers win. I said before the game I plan to drive 800 miles one way to see them on Wednesday, win or lose. Go Lakers

i've never stopped supporting the lakers, but the fact is, producing this kind of performance once in a while isn't enough. it feels great to win a game like this, but it doesn't make up for the lack of effort and inconsistency that has cost us games against much worse opponents.

having said that, games like this show that (some of) our squad does have potential. question is how long we can afford to wait for them to become consistent...

i pray to my lucky stars that odom and kwame see this game as a stepping stone on how to be effective as a laker. With them playing like that they are untouchables in my book.....props to devean as well. SIGN HIM BACK!

There's a "Predict the next 6 games" thread somewhere in there...

...(starting with the GSW game) and I said we'd go 3-3, with a chance for
4-2 by picking off one of the three games vs Detroit/Spurs.

I don't think predicting any game in any direction is crazy, cuz you never
know on any given night when a team might win.

Even the worst teams out there beat the best ones here and there.

The point is, we're NOT the Hawks, which too many people have acted
like we are.

I was saying in the other thread, to all those haters, that we were...

.500 going into the break
.500 since the break

(this was before the GSW game)

They were acting like, in fact some directly saying, that we were gonna
play .200 ball the rest of the season or something.

All you little middle-school kids out there who react to every win like we're
gonna go on a huge roll and dominate the league, or to every loss like
we're gonna crumble and fall to the bottom of the standings - you need
to grow up and get some perspective.

This was a great win for us - and it could carry over pyschologically.

But basically, we're the same .500-ish team we've been all season.

We're not great, we're not terrible.

Like SO MANY teams in this league, we are either on any given night, and
more often than not somewhere in the middle.

I wouldn't celebrate. We can easily proceed to lose the next 3 games. Everytime they get a big win, they relax and get proud of themselves.

What now? Unfortunately we wait and expect the team to come back down to earth like they have always done this year after showing signs of life. Hopefully it changes, but I'll have to see it to believe it.

Not for a few more games. i felt we were due for a streak. the tougher the challenge always seems to inspire. Lets not forget, we played DTown tough earlier on after we got out the shock of being stepped on.

Is LO capable of playing this well Mon?
Can Kwame take on that BWallace role again?
Unfortunately these are the question we Have to ask EVERY GAME.

Way to man up 0505! I've got a whole new respect for that kind of fan!
Isn't it more fun to support the guys than hate on em, and perpetuate doubt, doom, and gloom?

These moments are meant for the real fan and ddddddddammmnnn does it feel good!

Give me a break. It's not like the doubters didn't have reason to believe that the team was going to lose tonight. Not only were they going up against one of the top teams in the NBA, but they have been very erratic as of late. We went with the more likely outcome: the Pistons winning. We had legitimate reasons that the team would lose. It's not like we were hating on our own team for no apparent reason.

This is really nothing to brag about. I can go ahead and make an outlandish claim that the Colorado Rockies will win the World Series this upcoming MLB season. Is the possibility there? Sure. Is it likely? Absolutely not. If they do win, does that make me a genius and everybody else fools? No.

It's a young team man! A young team! Young teams have peaks, and valleys! That is a part of the process!!!!

When will you ever understand that? This is why bashing after every game on the players, and team as a whole is just stupid.

Trading players on a team like this everytime they make mistakes, and knee jerk reactions is even more stupid! They need time to learn, and grow together...

This team is nowhere near as bad talent wise as some of you have suggested. The Lakers need time, and guidance. NOT booing, not player hating, but support, and encouragement would work a lot better!

They just beat the (bleep) Detroit Pistons! Jackson now has something to excel with in those locker room talks!

The thing with this team is they play great one game and screw it all up the next. They might beat a great team like the pistons but they very well might turn around and lose to a crappy team like the blazers.

Thats the concept of a young team, and rebuilding, but seriously youngest team in the nba and were 8th seed, doesnt happen. But perpective is hard too keep and ive said were rebuilding time and time ,this year but eventually its too hard soo u jus go with the flow.

That would be impossible since the league wanted it another way.

I never bash team
Why cant LO play like this every night. Yes there talent is bad. Kobe is just that good.

We dont have problems with good teams win or lose. we always show up.
I will watch game in morn. but I give your boy props as I did b4 game even started. he was due.

No one has 82 great games. If kwame and LO played like this EFFORT WISE every game they would not soil the Colors. WE NEED LO and Kwame for the remainder of the season.

smush,sasha, kwame etc. are young.
LO is not(nba years). he needs to lead by example. Give me this effort EVERY game, whether shot is on or not, defense etc. No problems.

Stu had a great line early on this year about kwame. " becareful big fella, you show me that move once I am going to expect it all the time".

Well, can LO turn one great game into to 2, and then 3? I hope.

Hence the "we were" part and the "(going into the GSW game)" parts of
my post

Unless of course that was meant for the original poster for being chipper
over the win tonight.
