After 7 seasons he has been a dissapointing overpaid player. I know some guys here will vote him as an all star cuz they think he's great ( shoes and wolf ) which he's not. Do you guys think that he will ever be an all star in this league and make himself worth to the salary he's paid for ? _________________ After 7 seasons I am a NON ALL STAR, in fact, I am a ROLE PLAYER making Superstar $$$

You don't have to be an all star to be a benefit to your team. So it is immaterial whether he ever becomes an all star or not. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

If LO plays every game like he did against the pist, then yes most probably a reserve. When I say EVERY GAME i will use Mike D'Antonis logic

Until he shows consistency in some way, shape, or form.....his future is an overpaid roleplayer that never materialized into the greatness that he is fully capable of. |

As long as we are contending for titles next year and beyond, Lamar will be an all-star for us. If we trade him to a team where he'd be the #1 option, then he'll be an all-star. He would have been an all-star with Miami if not for the Shaq trade.
If we don't make the right moves and/or develop so that we are serious contenders for a championship, than Lamar will not be an all-star for us, and, if we trade him, if he isn't the focal point of that team, and that team isn't winning a lot of games, he won't be an all-star for them either.
I like to think he'll be an all-star for us, and that we'll be serious contenders next year. But that involves some things and moves outside of my or Lamar's control. In the meantime, Lamar needs to really focus on bringing the intensity every night, and not just against the elite teams. |

Well I think as this team improves and the spacing improves, and we get players that can hit shots more conistently. I can see odom going for 17ppg 9rbds and 7assts. The reason I think he can get 7 assts is that he would average that now if we had more consistent offensive options and when the triangle improves that's what I think he'll average. To me thats all-star production, but who knows if he makes it. |

Unless the T-Wolves want to give up KG, it's likely Lamar will stay a Laker. _________________ "Darkness cannot drive out darkness. Only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate. Only love can do that." ~~Martin Luther King Jr.~~ |

Dude, it has become clear that you have a very inhealthy obsession with Lamar Odom. It is so bad that you post about him approximately 7 times a day on this board alone. I think it is a case of latency and you actually want to be his boy toy for some man sechs. _________________ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mu3vkwP3GHQ |

As someone's pointed out, being an "All-Star" is nothing but a label.
Kind of a silly thing to judge him by.
That said, if you want my answer - not soon, unless he's traded to an
Eastern Conference team.
Too much competition in the West among forwards.
(more proof really that it's just a label, I'm not saying he'd be a better
player in the East, he'd just get that "label" - so people like you could
go ahead and think he's improved) |

What's everyone's fetish with all stars? Do you need a team of all stars to win? Remember the last time the Lakers sent 4 players to the all star game, they didn't even make the finals that season. Since it is only a popularity contest, being an all star is vastly overrated. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

For the most part AllStars are the most talented guys. talent wins. we lack talent. thats all. Shard wasnt, nor was JJ. I would take both guys over a lot of all stars though _________________ Lakers Tickets |

In the case of Odom, it's because he makes the kind of money that is associated with all-star caliber players. Obviously, not everyone in that range makes the all-star team, but it's a bad contract if the player isn't even in the all-star ballpark. Odom has never been in that ballpark, and I don't expect that to change.
In hindsight, we should have unloaded him long ago. I guess PJ really thought he could turn Odom into a Pippen-style player, ludicrous as that seems in hindsight. Now Odom has diminished value, but hopefully there is some GM out there who thinks that Odom is ready to blossom.
Or maybe Odom will play well for us in a more traditional forward role. That would be fine with me. At this point, however, it should be obvious to everyone except the diehards that Odom is no Scottie Pippen, that Odom is no Magic Johnson, and that Odom is not a unique talent. |

Lamar at best will be a 18-10-5 player....that's borerline all star..
However, in the West there are simply too many talented forwards he has to compete with: KG, Duncan, TMAC, Gasol, Brand, Dirk, Lewis, Kirlenko, Marion, Carmelo, Artest....maybe even Boozer, Murphy, West and Amare (if he is not considered as a center)....too many.
Lamar has no chance unless the Lakers have the top 2 record in the west.
Same premise for Kobe to get MVP. |

I'm begging you guys!
Allow me to use one of my favorite posters words... LakerLanny.
"Please, don't feed the troll."
It will wither, and die if it is left all alone in it's bizzaro world...
I know it's tough, but remember the only reason he continues is
to get a rise. If you don't believe me just watch him for a couple of
days. This is all he does. Whether the thread is talking about Odom,
or not he is. Hasn't had one thing positive to say since his arrival.
We can do it together guys!
just say nothing to 40point machine. _________________ "According to ESPN.com's conference projections, the Lakers will finish 12th in the West, which prompted Bryant to tweet earlier this offseason, "12th I see.." |

I find this comical. Sure, let's get the mods to start banning people who criticize Lamar Odom. Then let's ban the Kupchak bashers, the Sasha bashers, and the Kwame bashers.
Or let's just ban the people who write tons of posts on the same subject in a short period of time, all of which say the same thing. Adios Shoes and Wolfpac. |
