Bad memory. There WAS talk of George bringing the ball up and playing a little bit at the 1. I'm not saying I agree with it, but I remember it being mentioned in articles. So that one line doesn't discredit the whole article.
There also was talk of Kobe having the same sprint time as Raymond Felton. So look up Raymond Felton's numbers if you can't find Kobe's. |

With a 46" veritcal his head would be 4" above the rim. No way. |
I've seen pics where Jordan's head is at least a couple inches above the rim, and it's been said that his leaping ability was akin to Olympic long-jumpers.
I also remember reading somewhere that Dominique Wilkens possessed a 48" vertical. |

You are measuring quickness in a 40 yard dash. Your not even at full speed at the forty year mark. Earl Boykins will smoke anyone in the nba at 40 yards.
FYI... Wilt Chamberlin ran a 48.6 second quarter in high school.
I wonder what Shaq ran in the quarter? |

You heard wrong.
Kobe's fast but I don't think a player in the league runs that, and Kobe's
not the fastest guy in the league. |
Yeah Jerome Mathis set the record in 05 with a 4.25. Dion Sanders had a 4.28. |
I'm sure Dion's time was lower than that...it was right above 4.0...I'm SURE of that...maybe 4.05 or 4.1 |
No NFL Football player has ever run a sub 4.1 40 yard dash...ever. If they did they would be have a good shot wearing a gold frickin medal in the Olympics.
Also, there is no way Kobe Bryant can run a 4.3 40 yard dash. No way. |

I know that Kobe was working on speed during the off season. He was as fast as the fastest guy the lakers tried out for the draft, Raymond Felton. So that can give you a good assumption. _________________ A Clipper/Laker Fan

Most guys are at top speed by the 10 yard mark. Anyone can get to top speed with in 40yds (120 feet) |

NFL speed > NBA speed. Fact. Not that straight line speed matters as much in the NBA anyway.
That said, my guess is somewhere in the 4.4-4.45 range, faster than any of us schlubs _________________ David Thorpe: If Lamar Odom was 6'5", he'd be a shoe salesman. If Kevin Garnett was 6'2", he'd be Rajon Rondo.

Hey, I ran a 4.4. Of course, that was 28 years ago. Now a 4.4 10-yard dash is possible. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |
