Is the signing of Jackson the last move? The rumor around here is that Hardaway's agent assured the Magic that he was ready to play, but there was just to much negative history....If this is true, I would love to waive Mckie and sign Hardaway.

Is this true? I thought that the $500K we gave Jackson was the $2.2 million, prorated to this point in the season. I think anyone else will have to sign a minimum contract.

i think brunsons or hardaway would be very good pickups. i can make a case for both. i believe brunson is a solid defender at the point so that kind of is appealing. on the other hand hardaway could intiate the offense putting odom in the post and jackson spotting up.

Brunson was already picked up by the Rockets after being waived by the Sonics.

Jon Barry would be a good pickup imo, but he's leaning toward retirement.

Penny reportedly wants to use the rest of this season to heal and get back in shape for one last season next year...

Voshon Lenard stayed with the Blazers...

no body left. Unless you start talking about FAs that haven't played this season...

Jon Barry would be really interesting...could light a fire under Sasha that if he doesn't get it together we'll go with Barry instead of him on the playoff roster.

It would be like a tryout for the two guys.

^yeah definitely. Barry, even his one year with the Lakers, has always been a fiery player. Staunch defender too. Nuggets have been talking to him, and I don't know if he would wanna come back here after being waived for no apparent reason...

Howard Eisley would have been a good pickup, but he just signed with the Nuggets...maybe that means the Lakers have a better chance at getting Barry.

Barry would be ideal, because of his passion and intensity, good fundamentals, and being an elite sniper from the outside (inside and outside the arc).

If I'm Phil, Mitch, and Jerry, I sign Jon Barry and let Sasha prove he deserves to be on the playoff roster.

I'd love to see a lineup in the 4th quarter that would have Kobe, Lamar, George, Mihm, and Jackson/Barry. Jon Barry would be a deadly guy to put on the floor with all the attention and overplaying that Kobe and Lamar face, and he's experienced and been there before.

Imagine Jon Barry at the 1, Kobe at the 2, Devean at the 3, Lamar at the 4, and Mihm at the 5, and we're battling Dallas in Game 6 with 5:00 left to go in the 4th quarter. Kobe or Lamar initiate.

We are deadly. Dallas has to obsess on Kobe, which leaves Dirk covering Lamar out on the perimeter. Someone has to rotate and help Dirk too on Lamar penetration, so that leaves Barry and/or George wide open for a 3, Mihm open in the post or at the elbow, or Kobe freeing himself up by putting himself in Lamar's line of sight.

I'd take Jon Barry over Jay Williams...at least this year (unless we think Jay will be a keeper in future years, in which case I'd love to have him). Jay hasn't played for a long time.

I don't know if it's worth adding anyone who won't be Playoff eligible.

I don't think we have any exception left. I believe they gave the rest to JJ. Since he's not playing the full season it is prorated, but the contract is for the full amount.

Brunson is a Rocket. They picked him up from waivers. He may have a contract that extends into next season. Barry is leaning towards retirement. Signing anyone would mean getting rid of a player.
