Just read this from yahoo sports, the Lakers are 39-18 all-time when G Kobe Bryant scores 40 points.
i always that the records was around .500.. but it's actually quite high.. now if we can find out how many of those 39 wins were from Shaq's era.. |

So 11-6 this year when he scores 40+. Not bad, but not the answer to making this a top-level team.
The balance on Saturday night within the team was close to perfect. That's more important than whether Kobe scores a certain amount or not. |

kobe can get 35, but not be in attack mode.
kobe could be in attack mode and get a very dominant 39-40.
only a difference of about 5 points, but it's the way that he gets them that makes all the difference.
when he is aggressive, he is getting the frontcourt players into foul trouble, softening up the D for his teammates.. getting more free throw opportunities for the team cuz they're in the penalty quicker.. he has the defense on its heels trying to stop him.. it leaves guys that would be wide open normally, even MORE wide open, as they are scrambling to double and recover and are confused by their coach screaming at them and the crowd getting into the game.
so much more goes into kobe being in "attack mode" than just the points. |

He needs to be aggressive otherwise he's relegated to being a role player and it takes pressure off of the opposition. Nobody wants to face an aggressive Kobe. |

63% winning when he goes 40 or more? I'd live with that! 51-52 win season...
Not great, but definately strong. |
