Kobe Bryant tonight...

44pts (17/32 FG > .500) - against one of the best defensive teams in the league.

We're in the middle of the pack offensively and defensively (roughly).

Facing the Spurs, who average 95ppg - we allowed 103.

On offense, our average is 98.6 and we still scored 96 (against a great
defensive team).

Is it possible, just MAYBE... that this loss isn't Kobe's fault?

DEFENSE people.

Kobe played an amazing game..shot well...kept us close...if only we could get a stop...

I cant get #'s I am curious to see how LO managed to get a great boxscore after a horrendous night.

DG was weak. Kwame started nice but fell asleep. What should Kobe do

How was Lamar horrendous? I would have liked to see him get more scoring opportunities, but he played well tonight, and hard.

Now thats funny. he had the opportunity to get involved early. establish something, yet he failed. he passed out of the post every chance he had when he was singled by little Gino. his defense was horrid, as was the teams, but when your 12mil. more is expected. He was typical avg. role player LO. You all were waiting to annoint him after his DTown game.

Back to the LO we all know. Kobe score 40 on .500 we dont lose.

That didn't happen at all. He got the ball maybe once against Manu in the post. What he was doing in the 1st quarter was driving the ball into the lane and feeding guys time after time for open jump shots or layups (most of which were not made).

look at this post. one big excuse. what about him on D? What about scoring another bucket?

Hold him accountable please. He makes 12mil. OR are you still watching the Pist game

The triangle offense scored us 27 points in the 1st qtr. Then they stopped running the triangle and it stagnated.

MAGIC BRYANT isnt quite a troll but he usually has nothing but negative things to say about Kobe! How the hell do you blame Kobe for tonight, he was amazing! Stop being negative towards him!

No. I'm no troll.

I just feel genuinely cheated when I see Kobe play like he did tonight. He's better than that. The team was rolling. He got caught up in the moment and, along with some bad D, shot us out of the game.

If you ever see a real Lakers/Kobe fan being overly negative, it's cause they know he's better than he's playing.

Just as he did last time we played the Spurs, if he had just throttled it back a bit when others were playing well, we would have won. He just gets too caught up in the moment. It's his strength and his weakness.

K you obviously didn't watch the game. Kobe kept them in the game, team defense got them out. Kobe tried to get them back in the game, George misses WIDE OPEN 3 and team defense blows it again.

You're a hater Bounty...face it. You are totally inaccurate about Lamar's play in the 1st quarter. Review the tape.

You were wrong in real-time when I pointed it out, and you're still wrong now.

OK. Please, dude, he was exactly who he has been all season. Blame the others for his ineptness, thats funny. So hes 6'10 drove, got to within 2 feet of the basket and passed out?

Well tonight you are DEAD WRONG MY friend, anytime Kobe hits 50% and goes for 44 and hits all his freethrows and 4 straight threes the offense wasnt the problem. You are terribly misguided my friend, we messed up on defense! SImple! Youre a spoiled Kobe fan thats what you are, what do you expect him to do, blow fairy dust at our players to get them to hit all thier shots!??

Check Kobe's 3rd qtr stats, which is where the game was lost.

He was amazing on offense, when we were already 18 points down and the game was over.

I would prefer he shut down his man, and be amazing a bit more in the 3rd and early 4th so maybe these last few minutes don't look like he is just a stat padder.

-Doom

Exactly.

Pick your poison... Gino went 5-6 from three land, as did Finely... how does one man stop that... On the other hand.. Smush and George shot the ball terrible tonight... what should he have done?? They ran the offense in the second, and in the beginning of the 3rd...

We lost this game on D, not because of Lamar.

Lamar was 6-8 from the field, and 13/7/4 with 2 steals and a block. He easily should have had 8 assists tonight too if not for teammates' bricks.

That is a Problem. Not the only one, but a huge one. 5pts in the 1st half.
he AGAIN dwindled as he was needed

You are so irrational Bounty...I have no blamed no specific Laker in this entire thread except being pissed because Devean can't make a jump shot tonight.

Get it together, and stop just making sh#$ up.

We lost on D, as a team, and the Spurs couldn't miss. Kobe had a fabulous game, and I haven't blamed him once.

Look. We don't have a great defensive team. I concede that EVERY night. The way to win games like tonight, is to let the triangle keep the game close. Come 4th qtr, let Kobe shoot us to a W or L. He pushed the throttle WAY too soon. Running the triangle would have ate up time and we'd have only been down no more than 8-10 points, cause hte offense would have kept us in it. Come 4th qtr, Kobe scores his 17 4th qtr points and we win that game.

We were leading at the half, weren't we? And Lamar should have had 6-7 assists then if not for his teammates failing him. 5 points and 6 assists is a good first half when you're winning (even when you're not). There was no shortage of Lakers in the first half who did score enough for us to have the lead.

You have no basketball IQ bounty. We lost in the 2nd half on D...it had nothign to do with Lamar's offensive game. Your routine is rote by now.
