Turiaf too. He's been MIA for the past three games now after playing one bad game.

The Triangle offense? Only the most complicated in the game, we have players that have been here two years and don't know what the hell is going on. You think Jimmy J is going to pick it up in 2 hours?

And what's up with our Senile old Coach?!? His line up are beyond ridiculous now. He has been guy shy and isn't using all of his bullets (players) and some of the one's he is using are nothing but blanks!! i.e. Puke and Shasha.

I doubt he knew enough about the Triangle to have played tonight. He hasn't even had one practice with the team yet. He would have been completely lost out there.

Tonight would have been awfully quick.

No blame from me to Phil for not plugging him in.

He likely wants his first minutes to come against a less formidable
defensive team too, cuz JJ was struggling earlier this year and his first
few games with us could either get him rolling or set him back.

JJ has played under the Tri before. He could pick up basic sets easily. The trickier thing might be on the defensive end, but it seems they could have thrown JJ on Bowen or Finley. BShaw told Phil he should play JJ tonight before the game and it sounded like Phil was planning on finding him minutes.

Reminder to Phil...

Jim Jackson played under Clemons. Clemons ran the triangle when he was with I believe Dallas...

Get his ass in there, Phil.

Start Ronny each and every 3rd qtr. May be an idea to avoid these 3rd qtr. "lulls."

Go Lakers!

Go figure. He participated in a light workout with the team today and it was noted how quickly he is pickin' up on the triangle.

Let's not forget he played for Clemons. Clemons ran the triangle while Jim was with I think Dallas.

Go Lakers!

Sasha was used to match footspeed of NVE or Tony Longoria and Devean was used to stop the Spurs shooters, not sure a rusty JJ would have helped cool down Fins or Balki anyway.

I expect JJ to make his Laker debut on this road trip.

Because that's what Phil does...He might be the best coach at preparing before games, but when it comes to bench management and substitutions the guy is THE WORST.

PJ and his idiosyncracies.
there were more than a few smush sequences where he should've been benched. Oh well we lost to the spurs. And this time we gave 20 points to michael finley, not steve blake. I don't feel as bad.

I didn't expect him to play, why would he, he just got signed today. Right now Jim Jackson in Phil's mind is no more than a rookie. He'll eventually get his chance when he works out with the team more but I wasn't expecting him to play.

Just makes that win over Detroit that much more important. We'd be below .500 right now if that game was lost.

Not a terrible loss. Certainly a terrible 3rd quarter and that was the difference. But unlike a lot of their losses this year, they can actually take some good things from this one.

Because Luke Walton was playing and surely you can't take him off the floor.
Anyone but him.

Lets see, Mitch wants Bynum tp play more, Phil wont play him. Mitch wants Ronnie to play more, Phil wont play him, Mitch signed Jimmy, Phil didnt play him! however, Tim Thomas signs with the suns, the next night he goes for 20 in his first game!..its all ego with Phil, it's always been. he'll play these guys when he thinks its his idea!

I'll never forget the time Shaq, kobe, Fox, and Fisher cornered Phil in the restroom during the finals against detroit and begged him to insert the original starters leftover from the three peat as a way to combat detroits domination due to all the changes in our personell that year. Again, it wasnt Phils idea, so it never happened....its always been about ego with that dude!

Yeah, and let's not forget that Dallas team had no clue whatsoever how to run the triangle, they had players actually running into each other during the game, including Jimmy... rofl

i find it amazing that people actually think that it would've been better to use a player who has had ONE shootaround with the team, as opposed to players who at least have some familiarity with one another.

not to mention that jackson has hardly played this year. just because he's continued practising with the suns doesn't mean that he is anywhere near game shape...

Phillip is really getting on my nerves. They signed JJ to sit him on the bench, BEHIND Sasha POS? And as someone else mentioned, No Turiaf and no Bynum.

I get that feeling too.... I feel bad for Jim Jackson... Imagine, being an aging veteran NBA Player, and this may be your last chance, to help a team, like the Lakers, with a distinguished history... You turn down other offers, because, you know you can help this team win... Then, the big let-down.... You feel wasted, that's what...

To be honest, I began to suspect some kind of political thing, in which Kobe and Smush are allied, to prevent Jim from taking any playing time from them. I know, it seems pretty paranoid, but such are the wiles of life.

Phil may just not have the "feel", of who to substitute, and when... Actually, most coaches make me frustrated... I remember, Riles used to wear his starters out, like crazy... That may be why Magic's legs went, early?? I'm getting carried away here... Gotta vent these inner frustrations.
