I watched him get post position against Ginobili and Finely and he was asking for the ball. The perimeter players, including Kobe, didn't make the pass. As soon as he was being fronted they rotated to the weak side. |

yea he wasnt a fault, neither was kobe, the guy went bonkers dont the strech 4 straight 3 and (bleep) what the hell was smush's defender doing each time down the court. F'ing D, was bad, with maybe two stop down the streach , it would be a game but we couldnt get any in that span |

Lamar was fine...6-8 from the field without anyone bothering to pass him the ball, and when he delivers open look after open look, they brick the wide open shot. |

Some of the Spurs just decided they wanted to make some shots tonight. Finley has oftentimes been horrible all season and Ginobili has been in a slump. |

our defense sucked tonight. had we lost by 2, held the spurs to 80 pts, and lamar went 2/10, 8 pts, 4 assists, 8 rebs.. then id blame lamar. _________________ Dominating every day. |

Do you know who was supposed to be covering Manu and Finley (when Manu left) when they were raining down those wide open 3s?!?!
Odom got burned by not staying home on his man about 13 times tonight. Not exaggerating. |

Defense sucked in the 3rd combined with incredible shooting by SA. I take solace in that the final score wasn't a total blowout. |

That "incredible shooting by SA" strangely coincided and correlated with the man Lamar was (supposed to be) covering. |

Well, Lamar doesn't have the excuse of getting rubbed off of illegal picks every trip down the floor.
All he had to do was stay the (bleep) put. |

Tony Parker wouldn't allow it. Smush was getting raped and, Kwame was staying home with Dunc which was the right thing to do. Odom was helping off the weaksided like he was suppose to.
In fact a round of applause for LO knocking Tony damned near the (bleep) out! That was the hightlight of our defense tonight!
It worked to! The little HO missed both of them flagrant tosses! _________________ "According to ESPN.com's conference projections, the Lakers will finish 12th in the West, which prompted Bryant to tweet earlier this offseason, "12th I see.." |

the game was decided when Lamar decided it was fun to watch Manu shoot 3s...and Phil thought it was cool. No adjustments at all. _________________ "Now, if life is coffee, then the jobs, money & position in society are the cups. I didn't know flagrant fouls was considered good defense...so was giving up a three to Finley following the FT misses.... _________________ "Now, if life is coffee, then the jobs, money & position in society are the cups. Yo lamar was getting burned on the help defense..anyone whose played ball knows,,that if u have a player whose a goo driver(PARKER)..the help is supposed to come off the wings and collapse to the middle,,on the kick out,,try to get back,,now tonight the spurs 3 point shot was sick,,but the strad. is stop the easy 2 and make em shoot 3's,,but they were shooting freakishly well tonight.. |

Average game from Lamar.
Not poor enough to criticise - not good enough to praise.
His numbers were all slightly lower than his averages, but given the
competition he was facing - on stats alone anyhow, that's average.
As for his defense, it was good and bad.
We lost this team on defense.
I quoted some stats in the game-thread to back that up and I'll stand
by it day and night.
I can't believe some people were acting like Kobe (or even Lamar) caused
this loss.
Play defense against the Spurs and our 90 or so points are enough to win.
TEAM FREAKING DEFENSE. |

Well, it worked... Drifts c'mon man you've played ball. The defense has to react on the drive. If LO stays home the higher percentage shots floats all the way to the rim...
I'm through with this now... Some of ya'll are straight trippin...
The Spurs got hot today... NO need to try and find a fall guy for this. I mean really what is the point? The defensive effort tonight did not start, and end with any one guy out there. Why do ya'll love to fight over bull (bleep)?
I'm rising above this for this game. This is just to stupid... _________________ "According to ESPN.com's conference projections, the Lakers will finish 12th in the West, which prompted Bryant to tweet earlier this offseason, "12th I see.." |

I'll say this.
That flagrant on LO was BBBBBBBBBBBBB SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.
He was clearly going for the ball.
Not his fault Tony Parker decides to go 90mph and do a kickflip under the
hoop.
Lamar got almost all ball, enough wrist to deserve a foul for sure - but
Parker laying himself out like that is his own fault. |

The defense has to react on dribble penetration, but does not necessarily mean it has to come from 30 ft outside. That was bad defense, bad rotation. The Spurs' SFs were literally standing, catching and shooting, unhampered.
I'll be more specific, 100-90, Lakers making a late mini-run (anchored by who else, Kobe)...Manu drives, goes past Smush.Lamar forgets about Finley and leaves him wide open when he didn't have to & after Finley already hit several threes to burn the Lakers prior to that...going back to the play, Manu beats Smush, Mihm was there to challenge, Manu sees Finley standing around 22 ft from the basket and passes the ball to him, Lamar tries to recover...to late. 103-90. Ballgame. Lamar didn't have to help in that play, Lamar should've recognize his man was hot and stayed home. _________________ "Now, if life is coffee, then the jobs, money & position in society are the cups. What game were YOU watching?
Their perimeter players, Parker, Ginobili, and Finley lit us up. Are you seriously blaming Odom for THAT??? |

That was a bad flagrant call by all means. No way did Odom "not go for the ball", Odom played good D on that drive, but Parker just fell bad, that's why he got that call. Odom showed some aggression tonight so I agree tonight was not typical "pipey" Lamar |
